I like Fresh top end's explanation of why "equity" is the wrong name, but on the other hand, isn't equity another word that has been corrupted by users seeking "equitable" solutions?
If it is used in the same way it is used in "DEI" (Diversity, equity, and inclusion refers to organizational frameworks which seek to promote "the fair treatment and full participation of all people")
In that context, perhaps equity would be the proper word to use if you can accept that some people have not been able to participate and have been excluded from Club MX's zoom calls.
I don't think "private" and "equity" work together in that sense of the word. Especially paying for "equitable" access.
And the DEI debate has not distorted that sense of the word "equity." Dictionaries list entirely different meanings for the same word, and people distinguish meaning on context. Equity also is a legal concept and certain claims, remedies, and defenses are deemed to be in "equity," not in "law," and not subject to jury trial (goes to our roots in English common law where there were distinct courts of law and courts of equity).
The dispute about DEI is whether "equity" in the sense of just fairness among parties is an issue in contexts where some people advocate for more consideration of differences subject to historical discrimination, and how opportunities in the workplace or other civic areas have played out over those distinctions. Obviously people disagree on those issues, which I understand is fodder for non-moto here in order not to shit up the moto forum with politics. The only thing distorted in the DEI debate is history, which always is distorted in the mind of its beholders however their judgments cut.
There will be a different and probably more catchy way to say that there is an opportunity for exclusive content without unintentionally implying that someone is making a financial investment in anything but fun.

I guess it's a good time to step out of PE now. Isn't there a saying when taxi drivers start to give you stock advice, then the stock market is too hot and about the burst. ... maybe PE has reached that point now, the phrase is even used for things that don't build wealth.
Then again, in the Tech sector PE is said to be the thing 2024, but that is, buying out public companies 'owning them', will we own ClubMX, own a share of ClubMX if we use our 'private' 'equity' to get a share?
