From your current or past bikes, and they don't have to be from the same bike, in your opinion and for your needs what are the following?
Best: best mod/part/setup change.
Coolest: coolest or most trick mod/part.
Worst: worst, ugliest, least reliable or least worthwhile mod/change you have made to one of your bikes.
No arguing if you don't like other people's opinion or style or use of whatnot.
This might suck, but it might be interesting with the off season kicking in 🤷
Carbon fiber washers...
Best- 2019 450sxf, TD remap.
Mako360
The Shop
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Dang how high up are your forks? 10mm?
One of my Best is running an Oversized front brake rotor with a braided steel brake line.
I was skeptical on just a lowering link, but after I blew apart the stock dogbone on my KTM I had done some reading on aftermarket links and bought a Ride eng link from someone on here. Probably the biggest chassis difference I’ve ever felt other than getting suspension revalved. It took a lot of “play” out of the rear of the bike on acceleration bumps, can literally just come out of a corner and hold the 125 wide open with no worries of kicking out sideways or jarring my spine.
Good to know on the KTM link dude 👍
Last2stroke, I have a lot of varying carbon offcuts and keep thinking about those since you posted the tank pic the other week, nice.
HerBeaver, your whole bike is trick dude.
As Lumpy mentioned, an oversized disc kit made a huge difference.
Titanium hardware. Just cause it looks cool AF.
I love Carbon fiber pieces.

The CF square with the blue bolt is, a mount I made for my hour meter. Nothing special but, it works pretty good.
Best - '89 KX RSU forks to replace the stock USD on a '93 CR250.
Stock, the bike had violent headshake on choppy/rough straights, so much deflection that it wouldn't hold a line with any certainty and jarring bump "absorption" (if you could call it that). The KX forks totally transformed it - locomotive straight and steady while having outstanding plushness. I could go where I wanted (and intended) with great confidence, whereas with the stock forks it was more hoping I came close to what I intended and seeing if I survived the ride.
They made it feel like a works bike in comparison. Too bad the rider was still a squid!
Best- Scotts damper and suspension valved/sprung
Worst- Dying plastic parts black to make my 2006 look like the 2008.
Coolest- PC Titanium slip on. I had the same pipe as Villopoto, Strope, Weimer, etc. Tell you what that was the meanest sounding 250F in the C class.
The coolest was a Powroll kitted big bore, and stroked XL80 that I built in 85. It’s the only motorcycle I regret selling.
Almost full DMC package on my 1986 KX125. Or maybe full Noleen motor package on 1996 YZ 250 with Facory Connection suspension done Rick himself. That bike fell from heaven.
Worst:
Every two-stroke aftermarket pipe I have purchased made the bike harder to ride because it moved the power up in the RPM range, regardless of what the pipe mfgrs claim. I'll never waste money on another, OEM is really hard to beat for making usable all-around power.
Before they were a thing I made a quick grip throttle cam from PVC pipe, it was so good, no need to regrip and the bike felt like it had more power.
Worst: DNA wheelset. Broke a stock yamaha hub and needed a wheel fast. They were heavy and broke spokes on every ride. Lesson learned.
AMP link (not me personally but I had 2 friends who had them.)
Pit Row
On my 1991 RM250...best mod was a DG pipe. That pipe smoothed out the power delivery and I got a bit more bottom end grunt. That and a set of 92 forks...they were light years better than the 1991.
On my 2004 rmz250/kx250f...best mod was getting the forks redone/bladders eliminated. after that, that bike flat handled! Oversize rotor/SS brake line was a close 2nd. Worst mod on that bike was a Tusk clutch kit...the heavy duty one. The wear particles from the fiber plates were hairs. Blew up my engine...destroyed the head due to oil starvation and seized the cam. Tore it down to find the oil high pressure oil pump screen packed with hairs. Looked like something a cat yakked up. expensive lesson.
2018 CRF450RX (ridden at GNCC mostly, and the occasional MX and hard enduro.
No bad mods. Ride engineering O/S bar clamps and Pro Taper bars, CPU fans on the left radiator for hard enduro events, Evans waterless coolant, Rekluse 12 plate manual clutch- lighter pull than stock, and bulletproof.
Another good product .
Going back years but Pro Circuit made (cant remember if they were shorter or longer) linkage arms for KX’s that raised the rear of the bike changing steering head angle so the bike turned tighter.
Best: 1)Kreft suspension 2)Scotts stabilizer Worst: Any of the tire of the month fads
Coolest - buying my first brand new bike 01 cr125
Worst - buying a 01 cr125
Best - trading 01 cr125 in on a new 02 yz125
It's called a JIS screw driver set invest in some.
Awesome! How did you bond the rubber between those two halves?
Best mod I have done, and also the most adventurous, was mounting a Magura 4 piston, radial mount caliper to my YZ250. I have used this caliper on several bikes in the past but this was the first time I'd actually modified the fork lug, as opposed to just making a bracket, to give it a very clean install. Works frigging awesome!!!
5 speed?
Steg Pegz
I have a prosthetic leg. Being able to grip the bike was pretty difficult before I added the Steg Pegz. I can stay in place much better and able to have much more control.
My favorite mod I have ever put on a bike is my Scotts stabilizer. Close 2nd is my Fasst bars.
I had that kit on my 77 xr75 . That was probably the most fun bike ever at 12 years old
First thing I noticed
