Just curious how long some of you are going to keep giving Roger a pass for the present because of his lifetime of achievements? If he's 90 and still butting heads with people and insisting things be done his way, still cool? 100?  I'd rather see him retire gracefully with a nice send off than stick around too long and have to be shown the door, but that clock is ticking. Give him some emeritus title and let him hang around but there's guys racing that have great grandparents his age.

You are correct, he won some Championships 60 years ago.

60 YEARS!  I'm sure that experience is super relevant and relatable to the riders today...

He won junior championships in 1964. 59 years ago. He is in fact that old.

I think you are correct that my math is off.  I'm a dumb dumb.

Doesn't change the fact he literally won them a lifetime ago.

My " hate for him is deep", wild assumption my friend. I really could not care one ignot less about grandpa. Just stating the obvious, if you have been on this planet since a Roosevelt has been in the White House, perhaps you shouldn't be allowed to have an Amazon account, choose your viewing on NetFlix, let alone run a multi-million dollar factory motocross team. Good lord his eligibility for social security is old enough to vote.... Can see it now Ktm/ Husky/ GasGas sponsored by depends undergarments and geritol....

Not much of a Decoster fan but to think that he hasn’t grown with the sport AND technology and not be on top of what does or doesn’t do to make the bike work is asinine.

Chase has given lots of commentary on why he and the HRC Honda 450 didn't really "bond" in the last couple of years...and that was certainly a motivator in his jump to KTM for 2004+, among other things. No doubt the contract money was good, and his RedBull deal had to be as good or better than the Monster deal he had to leave behind to ride for the KTM team.

So, what do you think? Anybody care to rub the crystal ball, and make a prediction as to how Sexton will warm up to the orange bike, and will he prove to be real competition for the Lawrence brothers now that Honda has both of them on factory 450's?

He’ll have a little more stability and predictability at speed with the KTM. He has a very real shot at 2nd in SX.

So does anyone know why Chase washes the front so much? Fork too stiff? Bars too high? Body weight too far back? Combination? And is he going to do the same thing on the KTM?!

Everyone has theories, no one knows for sure. One of the theories is that the Honda is twitchy and it was the culprit.

Lots of conjecture goin on here, so I might as well throw in my opinion. I think Chase and KTM are in a no-win situation here and it has nothing to do with him or the bike. It has to do with Jett. Jett is poised to do something special in this sport and if he can remain healthy, he has a really good shot at blowing most, if not all records out of the water. I don't even think MC's 72 wins is out of the question. So that leaves Chase and KTM with the unenviable situation of scratching their heads. I really do think the team and Chase can elevate to an extremely high level, but unfortunately its Jett's time now, so Chase will be getting lots of second place finishes. But I feel like Chase would be getting lots of 2nds on any bike, not just the KTM.

One thing that should be good for Chase is I dont see roger letting him keep making the exact same mistake over n over 100 times and not fixing it. It seemed like honda was kind of over it because he was leaving and Jett was winning everything, but if that same problem persists at ktm theyre going to do whatever they can to straighten him out. This would be really good for Chase because if he can clean up the mistakes hes gonna be a title threat again.

Chase is going to have a shitty season, that team can not figure out that bike. It seems there is a war between team management and the riders as to what direction they should go with the bike.

I’m just glad we had him around for another year of Teams not wanting to participate and getting our asses beat at the MXdN.

I never said Honda HRC was solely responsible for Chase and Jett's success, but I do believe that team and the HRC 450 are a big part of it.

Bike setup or riding skills, he may need a new trainer...

I think (hope) we see some serious battles between Jett and Kenny, with Eli nipping at their heels.

Though I think Jett and Kenny will be much more consistent.

Imagine thinking Chase won't win a SX race in 2024. That's some clown talk Laughing

Two-time 450 SX champ Cooper Webb didn't win a single race in 2022 as the defending champion.

It happens.

If Webb doesn't crash and get injured at the end of the series that worst bike is the Supercross champion for 2023.

Chase is a technically sophisticated racer who appears laser focused on his own race. I think he's still growing into the racER. I don't recall how his championships were won aside from last years SX but guessing his straight up speed saved him from a ton of dog fights. We could say the same for Lawrence. That said he was aggressive while chasing Tomac in last year's outdoors. I love that he's an impeccably professional and clean racer and surgeon on the track. I'm going to be watching to see how his aggression has evolved when defending his Supercross title. It may take less focus on lap-to-lap precision in 2024 and more desire to mix it up in head to head dogfights. Villopoto is my favorite racer of all time insofar as excitement for the main event and that's because he was very aggressive and a tremendous fighter on the track. If Chase moves in that direction slightly, he's going to do extremely well but that's what it's going to take to beat Lawrence and I totally think he can do it.

I think it’s possible removing Roger results in zero US teams participating. So we wouldn’t technically get our asses kicked since there would be no asses there to get kicked.

It wont be a problem for Chase. Word is that KTM is having Herlings come over and train Chase. This keeps Herlings out of the ER and casts and gets Chase up to form. Mark my words.
