SMX is a joke. Leader lights, points racing, “world” championship, etc. Nascar pulled all this shit years ago to attract new viewers and actually alienated their core audience. MX/SX is starting to do the same. Hell even our space cadet commentators don’t know what’s up with the points, or why someone would let just let someone pass them. The whole show makes it look like Ringling Bros. meets Idiocracy

When it came time to explain it he probably started to realize his in race math was fuzzy and just fumbled through some answer. Cannot imagine him being that soft or petty to let him by like that otherwise, but we'll never know! 

Lesson to Jett is to just race. Stop doing math and waiving guys by or over thinking it. Just race.

100% agree with the leader lights and the points.      STUPID GIMMICK beyond belief.

But the tracks have been amazing.   A breath of fresh air to the same old-same old cookie cutter stadium aerial acrobatics tracks.

...and this is a true world championship.   All the top guys from around the world.   Would be nice to see it opened up to the euro top shelf talent.

My point was that he let him by because this is a "serious" championship to him by thinking that he would put more points between him and Chase....and unintentionally possibly giving Ken a bit more motivation...

Not take it seriously? My public school math of 50 years ago tells me the difference between $1,000,000 for the win and $500,000 for second is a lot. RC made me laugh when he said "the title" is about pride and not the money. I'm sure it's a bit of both.

I agree.  And to see these comments about what went down outside Chicago where we all know most the kids in public schools can hardly read or write.  Poor form by Jett in my opinion, but he's young and will learn.  Hard not to respect what the whole Lawrence family has done.  I can only think the homeschool comments come from envy, resentment or regret.  I'm stoked to see KR competitive.  Hopefully with the more SX orientated track in LA Ken and Chase will have something for Jett.

I went to a Chicago Public School my entire life and have an Aerospace Engineering degree from a top 10 university in the country. Don't speculate on things you don't know, you fucking neanderthal.

You have to remember, a lot of homeschooling in the moto world is mom doing the work so Junior can just worry about riding. Not a lot of emphasis on education when dad believes little Timmy is going to be the next MC/RC.

I'm just saying....  Home-schooling gets a bad rap.      It's not a success for everyone...just like public school and university education these days.
