I was standing probably 10 feet away from whoever was filming this . Tom came into that corner with a lot more speed than all the other riders near him……it was impressive, until it wasn’t
I was curious about this crash all weekend and was very confused as to how it made Ryder DNF until I saw him get ran over.
What is the prognosis on both riders after the weekend?
Man that whole situation looks so fucked
Yikes

He is lucky he didn't get landed on. That could've ended real bad.
Did some random guy jump the fence and start directing riders away from Vaille? Good for him if that’s what happened 👍
His shirt says Washougal on it, but I couldn't tell if it was an event shirt or a staff shirt.
Finally a cameraman with a calm hand.
Where them flaggers at tho?
Seems like a good place for a flagger….
Yeah, right??? Where are they? That's not a good look for the sport.
I don't think we watched the same video. That video was shaky as hell.
This has to be my least favorite section of the track and it's been like this for awhile now. It sucks you go over the jump and there's that turn they put in.
That's the first bottle neck point Justin Cooper found out about that one personally.
Then it goes down hill where it gets all wide again. Semi bowl turn you can rail the outside. But it suddenly bottle necks again going over that small jump. Where Vialle crashed.
I wish they'd go and totally redo it. For those reasons. I've had people at the track say they like it. I don't know how it's gotta be the lamest part of the track.
Right. So unacceptable for the professional level.
Ryder is having a tough go at it. I really though he was going to have the impact when he hit the pro level that Deegan is making
That could have been SO much worse.
What a shit show . Add a t shirt and a hot dog to next yrs budget.
Been riding this track since 1976 and this section is the worse!
Lots of Pros and Amatuers over the years have had serious injuries in that area!!!
At the Old Timer Event, Dave Eakin (Thursday Nite Motocross Track Builder - Long time Oregon MX'e) brought in a construction light and put it in that area and it was awesome!
Thats usually the issue, no pay. A tee shirt , lunch and a few free tickets
Pit Row
first i thought while watching the vid
all rider's after him were dazzled by the waved bright yellow flags 🙈
i haven't seen much 🙄
Funny you say that my friend kept complaining about that all weekend to me. Kept saying it was blinding him it was in the wrong spot pointed wrong. I was unfortunately injured and not able to ride this year on crutches. So I cannot say either way.
That was a nasty high side. When you bounce uphill it hurts. GWS to all involved.
If you guys didn’t run DC off he could explain why we don’t have paid experienced flaggers for all the events
He would poor mouth and say they couldn’t afford it.
Glad he was tossed to the side. Easily could have been an Alessi situation there.
Thank god Tom landed on the side and it was his bike in the middle of the track. Scary deal
Watch Vialle's last post on Instagram for video of the crash.
This is a Pro National... Seriously where tf is the flagger??
oooof, that was a tough get off - TV should dial it back to 90% - 95% while learning these tracks and maybe come out swinging next year. Washougal is so deceiving, and a racer can get clipped there. It's been proven time after time.
