Jett has crushed Pala for the last 3-4 years so I would expect him to either win or be damn close
It’s gonna be wild if 18 and 23 separate themselves and go head to head like 23 and 3 did
The first round is of little consequence in my opinion. Remember in 2010 when Dungey, fresh off the sx title, had so-so results at the opening round?
Then the following year did awesome and RV, fresh off the sx title, didn't do as great at the opening round?
Both went on to win the title in their respective years despite first round results.
The Jett hype is crazy. As ridiculous as Victor's hype in the NBA. Jett will have nothing for Sexton and Ferrandis on a long run in my opinion. He is too skinny for the 450 atm. I'll bet he'll taste the ground more than once.

RC was not a big guy and he's the GOAT.
IMO, Jett looks bigger than Ferrandis, and Ferrandis had no issues with the 450 in 2021.
We'll see, but I believe Jett will be fine and win races.
All three riders are faster than snot...but I believe Jett has a history of wins on this track, and it would be tough to bet against him. He and Sexton are healthy as well, but Ferrandis is coming off of some down time...which may effect things.
I'm saying Jett FTW.
I can't help but believe that Sexton learned a very valuable lesson about patience and consistency last month. Even if he doesn't win this weekend, I'd bet on him to be right in the mix and stay towards the front all season.
Coming back to this later.
AP and Marvin are considerably skinnier than Jett.
What a ridiculous assessment. You could have said he is too inexperienced or something, and instead you went with "too skinny." All these dudes are skinny, Jett doesn't seem any thinner than the rest of them.
RC wasn't tall, but he was dense and stubby. A real Pitbull. Ferrandis has always been a tough dude. Jett is really slim so I don't know, maybe I m wrong. We'll see through the season.
You're blind, you need new glasses. I mean Jett is still a teenager who is going to have to ride against men.
Yeah I don't know. I don't think he's that skinny. And he's 5'10 (taller than Ferrandis and Tomac). I'd bet he weighs more now than Tomac did when he did unspeakable things in 2015
I don't get the "have to be big" to ride a 450.
Almost none of these guys are big.
Marvin seems to do fine and he is what, 155lbs?
If you look at that pic above and still think Jett is too skinny I don't know what to tell you.
Jett is 5'10 for 155 lbs. Sexton is 168 lbs for 5'11... AP is 155 lbs as well but 6'2 tall. You need weight in 450 in my humble opinion.
I shouldn't be surprised that this quickly devolved into arguing about how muscular a 19 year old is. Off season talk happened fast.
Webb. Disagrees lol about 5 7 150
Jett ripped the hell out of that 450 at Redbud MXoN at whatever size he is.
Pit Row
Probably why he is so good at outdoors. I want to see Jett's endurance, resilience and body trunk strength on a 450 on a full season.
My thought: riding style more than body type is a better indicator of how quickly a dude will adapt to the big bike. Smooth, fluid riders like Kenny (who was stick skinny in his rookie championship), tend to adjust pretty quickly with fewer uh-oh moments.
And Jett definitely fits that mold.
Not an argument. This is a particular weekend races, not a whole championshit. Off course he will won races but how his young body will react races after races ? A body needs to matures like wine. Tell me if you think Jett is at the level of Tomac or Chase in term of stamina, body strength, experience ect ? Experience is also the experience with your body. Off course Jett is not. That's my point.
Maybe you're right. I do not disagree. I may also be right. We'll see.
Man, I'm usually very down on the idea of rookies winning anything because they rarely keep up with the hype (moving to 450s is hard). But, I have to admit that Jett instantly will be capable of winning not just motos, but overalls.
He seems closer to 6' to me. He looks plenty strong to ride the 450. That being said I still think Chase will win the title this year with Jett making a couple mistakes. Actually I hope they get a serious feud going about the time they arrive at Redddddddd Buddddddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the overhype is too much as well. But its not only a "he's got the speed, he can handle a 450" statement. Its the fact that he needs to be able to go the fastest he's ever ridden for 35 mins every single moto. Rarely has he had to charge for an entire moto up to this point. Now add ~20hp and 20 more lbs of weight and inertia. Physically he can do it for a few races. But speed and conditioning-wise, he cannot physically hang with '22 Sexton / Tomac speed for an entire season. Like I said time will tell. I just want to see really good racing with the 4 guys that are left in the class...
I can't vote on this one. It's going to be a battle. I expect Cooper Webb to be in the mix as well.
Jett has literally raced full multiple outdoor seasons of 30+2's without any endurance issues.
Of course you'll counter with b-b-b-but 250's dont compare to 450's.
Jett Lawrence is the LAST person I would ever expect to see gas out in a moto...and I'm not seeing the skinniness that you are...IMO he looks to be bulking up.
Your*
Jett cracks when he’s not clearly better than his competitors. Once he gets a little rattled with ferrandis and sexton on his back wheel or seeing them pull away a bit he will start making odd mistakes
either that or he will be a second a lap faster and smoke them
With the way this year is going, they all crash out and Webb wins the title.
