It's like 4/1 and 4/20 mashup. Maybe throw in a lot of 5/5.

I didn't look at the forecast, but if it was calling for thunderstorms and significant rain they could have skipped a practice session, shortened track maintenance/ or the "Media Day" at 1-2:15 PM. The racing could still happen on Peacock at it's normal time on tape delay, that is if it was on NBC or whatever live. Even if I saw it on Peacock at its normal time and it was a 1-1.5 hour tape delay it wouldn't bother me.

That said, my boy made out well, so Idc either way. I think Eli probably would have done worse had it not been muddy since we had a little banged up.

so skipping that really wouldn’t help much Saturday night…,😂😂😂

I'm a moron, when I was looking at the East Rutherford Race schedule I was stuck on Friday didn't scroll down to Saturday. I know Media Day used to be Thursday I believe, they might be Friday now. I was wondering why it was listed that way, but wasn't paying attention when I was looking at the schedule for what I thought was race day.

Say what you guys want, but if a monsoon was coming they could push the event up an hour, maybe a bit more. They don't start practice til noon and there's other stuff going on throughout the day that could be cut down. I hear what people are saying about not moving a live event up, but seriously with this who cares if you miss a freaking heat race?

What's better, moving the event forward an hour, possibly hour and-a-half, possibly discounting customers or having to re-schedule for another weekend or even cancel? At the end of the day, moving it up an hour would be the better option.

AMA does it outdoors too.

Lightning detected, all ontrack activities postponed until 30 minutes after last detected strike.

At least that's how it used to be.

Are you the love child of Cooksy and Hooper?

I'd imagine if they had a kid together you would be their son for sure with a stupid statement like that

I was there. Didn’t seem like they used anymore time than they absolutely needed between races. They could have started maybe a half hour earlier but other than that, it was worth it. Quit crying.

I want a hat like this.  How much to foil does it take.  Also, is a tin foil hat safe to what are a Supercross race when it Lightning’s, just asking for a friend.

I was there. Definently 100% could have gotten the 250 main in no problem before any lightning came in but there was no way in hell they were getting that 450 main in without a delay. There was literally lightning right over the stadium from like 9:20-9:50. I think Tomac did luck out though with the mud because he would not have been anywhere near top 5 speed on that track dry. He looked slow all day.

I was also there. 250 main would have been over but the issue would have been if they could have gotten the crowd out of the stands in time or not. That is why they didn't start the 250 main, imo.

This.....

Stadiums have a lightning protocol and once it gets within a certain distance they pull the crowd and hold the event.

It happened there 9 years ago when SX was there, we all had to go inside the concourse.

...what if there is no conspiracy, and the people who are saying it's a conspiracy are actually deep cover Feld employees putting this information out to make Feld seem more powerful than they really are for a fraction of the cost it would take to really pull such things off?! Get the sheeple to fear Feld and the talks of a riders union goes away real quick... FOLLOW THE MONEY!

Even if it was, couldn’t it easily have gone the wrong way for them? Points leaders win second/third place dnfs

No, we don't think about realistic outcomes after the fact, only ones that fit whatever narrative pops into our head.

Yes, tinfoil hats are absolutely, completely safe to wear in a lightning storm! 100% safe, and they keep your hair dry too! Now stand tall, in the highest place you can find, and you’ll be most comfortable barefoot!

One man found about it and was having his bike revved all day in the pits at Atl to try to alert the rest of the world before they got to him and banned him from coming to NJ

With obvious imminent bad weather coming in. Why didn't they speed up the show at all? There was plenty of time to run races before the lightning or rain showed up. It seems very suspicious that the AMA / Feld wanted a mud race to create drama for the series. I've never seen them drag their feet so hard to make sure the storm got to the stadium before the mains. I've seriously never seen them waste so much time in between races when they should be in a hurry to get the racing in. Anyone else think it was very suspicious?
