Very cool & he worked hard for it around the chaos!
Hell. Yes.
Love it ! He looked good.
A full lap around the track with a 250 2 stroke on a nationally televised lcq is really cool.

We were screaming at the tv. Way to go!
imagine the feeling when he passes you for the transfer position.
Making a main on a totally disadvantaged bike and a speedway track to boot!. So cool.
2-smokers forever!
Thought I heard a two stroke out there
My man is a 2 stroke legend. History was made today.
when was the last time a 2-stroke was in the 450 main?
And the late 80's look of the bike. Too cool!
This needs a bump to the thread because it really was remarkable to have a 250 smoker in the 450 main. Lesher had a very solid AX season and I'm not surprised he made it into the main. Dude can rip on a dirtbike.
The last one I can remember is McGrath in 06. But surely someone else has since then?
Wow!
At 7:32 you can see him pass Cianciarulo, and then at 11:20 they highlight him in the lcq, then around 14:40 CS23 goes by him: https://youtu.be/q-YdjZeVmCY
I wish just for once the camera guy would focus on the two-stroke for at least 10 secs. You hear the sound and so desperately want to see the bike but it rarely ever happens.
I remember Mike Brown in 2006 on a Rockstar Suzuki.
I know there's been some in the 250 class on 125s, but I'm drawing a blank for the 450 class.
Excited for him. He is a great young man.
That’s a good find
The fact that he runs the 1987 YZ theme year-round on his 2 stroke makes it even notably cooler.
Pit Row
mxa did one of their pit reports about his bike from indy maybe? Will post it up here when I find it.

Especially in my book.... I had an 87 YZ-250.
It would have been a natural “science of supercross” moment to let the sound in and educate the masses on the differences between two and four strokes.
Lesher’s machine before the night show. Pretty badass 2-stroke and rider! I don’t know how we was doing it, but he was reeling guys in on the long straight section coming back under the tunnel and across the start straight. It was impressive!
I’m pretty sure the last one was Jeremy McGrath in 06
It would have been Brown in 06. MC didn't do the entire season and switched to a 450 at some point. DV12 started on a 2 stroke and switched also.
Looks like MC's last race on the 250 two stroke was Anaheim 3 2006
Harris Racing built the engine. Here is a short clip talking about the motor a bit.

20 year old YZ platform with more main events than KTM 2 strokes since 06. MXA hardest hit
Rad he got a 250 2 stroke to the main! Just curious how he would have done on a 450? Or curious how a really good 250 2 stroke with a top 3 rider could do throughout the season.
It wasn’t Josh Woods, I confirmed it with him, he was on a 450.
