After 9 hours of riding sand, nearly all knobs on my MaxxCross tire cracked. Premature wear. The tire came on the 2022 GasGas mc450f. No response from Maxxis after filling out their online contact form.
Anyone else run into this issue?

There is a thread about this on here. It seems to be a problem.
You bought a cheaper quality KTM, did you not expect to get lower quality parts to justify the discount?
I don't think they are going to do anything for a tire with 9 hours on it with rounded knobs. Dunlop has $25 rebates on MX33/MX53/MX12/Mx3s until end of Feb. Get an MX12 or 33 rear.
I have no experience with Maxxis moto tires, but in the MTB world the tires Maxxis provides the OEM's are a different compound and quality than what you buy aftermarket. I'd guess the stock tires on that GasGas are throw away items just like stock chains and steel handlebars back in the day.

They are the same as the off the shelf version
TM's come with them. My buddy had exact same issue, and Maxxis ended up sending a replacement.
That's rough. Even if you get a free replacement, do you really want it? Put a MX32 Pirelli or Dunlop on it.
This is the right answer. Unless you actually want to run that tire, buy what you want and move on. It sucks they are not responding, so next time you are buying anything they make, choose another brand.
The stock Maxxis tires are junk, we've had two GasGas bikes and both did the same after about 5hrs on them.
Just replace the tire.
This is the same thing in the OEM car world as well. A tire spec’d OE on a vehicle may be the same “pattern” as what you would normal purchase, but it is a shallower tread depth and different compound to hit EPA fuel efficiency regulations. So, when your brand new cars tires wear out faster than expected, don’t buy the exact OE tire to replace it. Get a quality aftermarket replacement that will last longer.
That looks like a defect. I’m pretty sure there are date codes and batch codes on the side of the tire that are good info to have when you talk to Maxxis.
I’d change the tire and continue to pursue Maxxis about a replacement. I’d ask my dealer, too.
Where can you utilize this discount? It is not for the major online retailers, nor is it through Parts Unlimited
You have to use a Dunlop pro dealer which means no mail order. This is where building a relationship with a local shop can come in handy. A brick and mortar shop can drop ship tires to your house though.

I've had two brand new bikes with Maxxis do the same thing, dealer talked to GasGas and there was nothing they could really do.
Every Maxxis tire I have had has shed its side knobs in record time. I no longer buy them, obviously, and rate them as junk tires
Call McGrath. The ads said he helped design them.
Dude, it's a Cheng Shin. What did you expect?
Thanks for the feedback. First time running a Maxxis tire. Sounds like they are junk.
9 hours, failed casing, me thinks they'd be required to support. Potentially a serious legal issue for a tire carcass failure.
It is offered through Dunlop Pro Dealers. They have the form to submit to get the rebate back. It isn't a discount, it comes back on a gift card that you can use anywhere.

It is pretty weird how low their moto tire is rated when comparing their market dominance in the mountainbike world.
on my '22 GG450.....really wanted to like them but mine are junk as well....
Same issue on my 2023 mc350 at 8 hours. I’m missing 8 knobs and both sides are cracked all the way around. I’m going to Dunlop. Tires need replaced every 8-10 hours anyway. Part of the game.
The forces exerted on a motocross tire are significantly greater than those exerted on mountain bike tires.
They do not dominate the MTB world. They are a big player for sure, but plenty of other great tires that compete with them.
Looks like every Dunlop I've ran the last ten years.
Take off when bike is new, buy your tire of choice & then mount up Maxxis when selling bike… just like what we used to do with oem handlebars & chains when they were junk…
The last couple of years have gotten better with the quality of competitor tires, but they have been and still are the undisputed benchmark in performance mountainbikes.
This snip is from the most recent pinkbike survey from whistler opening day. I would call that market dominance.
Not that the tires don't work great but a friend had a revolving chain of warranty replacement DHR 2s for awhile. We joked about his Maxxis "sponsorship". I had one replaced myself. Funny thing is the damage we saw looked just like the OPs pic.
That's one day at one resort with primarily DH/Enduro Bikes. XC and Trail are a huge segment and we don't have sales data to compare. I am not arguing they are a huge player and also make some great MTB tires, but so do others.
Something tells me it would still be dominated by maxxis 🤷♂️
