Top five in the championship totally doable if he stays off the ground. Half the competition already wadded themself up so shouldn't be out of the question if he stays healthy.
There is another point -
Any more?
maybe.....we are soon to find out
Vialle v Deegan holds great interest as a rookie contest.

I say he is 7-10
You missed nothing...except that you never had an initial response to zehn in this thread.
I doubt it, but I hope he wins just to stir things up.
I doubt that Daddy Kiedrowski ever said “MX Keid, go take out the trash”
I doubt that Hannah’s wife calls him Buckwheat very often.
I sort of doubt that Daddy Pastrana calls Travis “The Village Idiot” regularly.
etc…….
Dick Lechien: “Dogger, go get me a beer”
That may have actually occurred, but in my imagination it would be “Hey Dogger, go get US a beer…..
Believe the Hype tshirts on their way to press
I hope the kid stays safe, has a solid showing and builds from there. I commend him for going pro now, the sport needs more young characters in it with guys like Eli, Jason, Justin, Kenny, Marvin, Malcolm, Deano etc eyeing retirement.
FOR WHO
If there ever was a time to move up its now .Have you guys seen the entry list for this weekend..The east looks to be pretty weak with everyone hurt...He should be able to podium or be top 5 if hes as good as everyone says he is..Plus its better to get beat by pros than it is to get beat by amateurs ..
Do any of the people here saying he'll podium want to make a bet?
That last one could be up for debate haha.
I thought his name was Danger and the daughter’s name was Hayden.
8-12th with at least one tipover/crash.
Pit Row
Sébastien Tortelli won his first ever Supercross, 1998 season opener at LA coliseum in the 250 class.
He was still a GP rider at the time for Jan DeGroot and came to race a couple rounds before going back to Europe and win the 250 GP title against Everts. They battled until the last moto for he title. You can watch it on YouTube.
Seb came over many years before 98 and raced SX. He didn't win his first SX race
I'm pumped that Wednesday I last minute decided to order up some tickets and make the trek to Houston for the opening round of the east coast! This should only add to the excitement/drama of the night. Who thinks he'll have the longest autograph line? I figure he'll wind up 7-12th at the end of the day. Hopefully he just makes the laps and isn't out there riding over his head.
That would do for 1st pro SX, just got to stay healthy, hope for no big crashes, few wee tip overs would be ok
I agree that this is the best thing long term for his development. I think the only downside comes from possibly where he is in his contract cycle; if this is his last year then it may be adding unnecessary risk, but I like "bet on yourself" approach with turning pro. Anyone know how much longer his Star deal is for?
In the other thread someone posted times and his times would not have put him in the top 10. He will be somewhere 12 - 15. After a few races maybe break the top 10. This year should be a learning year and stay healthy.
This isn't surprising. They needed someone to talk about during the broadcast since Jett isn't going to be around.
The only question is who will get more coverage this year?
That’s hilarious and it gets 2 downvotes?
I wonder what his expectations are? And what they were at that Futures race . He had already pretty much committed to race Huston before that race last weekend so he had less to prove last week than he may have to prove this week. He looks like he is learning insanely fast. I had never really seen him ride until he signed with Star. I had seen some video clips here and there. But did not pay much attention to him . I knew about him because some of the local kids around me had been racing the same classes as him and were close to him in some, even beat him.
When I saw that first video of him on a Star YZ250f , riding with the other team riders. I thought he looked like a decent B rider , not a rider that rode for a top team. But then a little before Loretta's I was watching some more videos and I was blown away at how much better he looked . And then he came out and had decent speed at the Nationals he raced. I expected him to be fast , otherwise he wouldn't have had the Star ride. But I was surprised at the quick increase in speed.
Most of the focus these days is on SX. I really would be surprised if he is a worse SX rider than outdoors. He's probably had a Supercross track to ride for as long as he has been riding. I think he will be a much better SX rider than outdoors. His dad knows thats where he needed to be fast .
I'm not saying he's going to go out and win the opener. If there was not so much talk about should he race SX , should he go pro and jump in. should he do this . Knowing how the team wants to win , I would think if the team was expecting wins from Hayden , they would have been more certain about when he would race. After his outdoor race results. I think it will be a success for him to make the main and run up front , and finish around the top 10.
Or may he's just learning to go fast so fast, that they are "letting" him move up sooner , and he will surprise a lot of people. He has a lot of people talking about him. giving him and his sponsors exposure and bringing some more hype to the opener. I'm excited that the season just keeps on giving us more surprises. Even though it's similar to when RC was winning everything (tomac being RC in this case) and Stewart winning the small bike stuff ( Jett Lawrence the current comparison) There seems to be more focus on other riders along with the guys at the top. The buzz that Kenny got over the off season . As much as people like to complain, the MX media and race promoters have gotten so much better at telling a better story. And putting focus onto the other interesting aspects other than the winners. I would say that RC had an easier time winning when he was winning. But if you look at just the results it would not look a lot different. Having more people like Hayden Deegan that know how to hype up and really tell the exciting parts of the story involved in the sport , love them or hate them, seems like it will be good overall for the sport and people who enjoy it.
11th place. 2 crashes.
his corner speed has improved tremendously since he joined Star.
I think this is the best thing at this point. Right now he can't lose traction without it being dissected. He can go race and get 12th and its fine. Learn in race conditions what the best are doing. You can rip practice laps with the fast guys all day and then in a real race feel lost against the same guys.
I believe in being thrown to the wolves. If you're mean enough you'll figure it out.
