I don’t watch MotoGP so no, I hadn’t heard of him. I wouldn’t expect someone who doesn’t follow motocross to know who Eli Tomac is though, either.
I understand why they would interview him though, but that wasn’t the argument they were having.
I remember him on MTV cribs back in the day and he had a huge collection of bikes. He even had them inside his house and the kitchen.
Moto GP is fantastic.
Also worth noting that the average viewer is not the superfan that likely listens to Pulp or posts on Vital.
I hate to say it, Dogger is a bad dude, but with our young demographic, and to the casual viewer, I bet more viewers know who Quartararo is than Dogger.

Pretty certain the American road racing champ (Jake Gagne) had qualified for an outdoor national at some point. He would get lapped by Quataro in three laps roadracing similar bikes.
If it wasn’t done by an American it wasn’t done.
Utah 2015, almost scored points the first moto and finished 2 spots ahead of the famed Johnny Hopper at the only national he qualified for. At least we know roadracers are faster than shitty journalists!
I’ve heard of him
I’d rather watch anything with motorcycles racing than any stick and ball sports.
MX, SX, AX, EX, GNCC, Moto GP…
Yes, big MotoGP fan. Wish we had an american in it. At least we have two in Moto2. IMHO it’s some of the best action and coverage of any sport.
Fabio is in California as we speak training on a 23 YZ450. If you’re at Pala or Perris in the next week and see a guy with red #20 on a new YZ450, that would be him.
Nope. When I tried to think of current moto gp riders Rossi and Marquez were the only names to come to mind.
Back in the 80s and 90s when I subscribed to cycle news I knew what was going on in the road racing world. Now that magazines are nearly extinct the only thing I am up on is mx and that I have to seek out.
Fabio is amazing on a motorcycle and the best personality. His interaction with fans is great. We met him at Sepang. For the ‘superstars’ they are, especially Asia, they are very approachable. My wife who just followed to the event is in love with him and is asking when Motogp starts again.
If you want to watch close motorcycle racing where any bike and manufacturer can win on any given weekend - watch! It’s incredible. This year is set to be very exciting with factory Ducati.
Zero complaints on the broadcast! It’s such good coverage. I wish supercross could get to that level.
…. maybe the Simon Crafar interviews in the bits with loud bikes.
He drives me crazy but at least he’s toned it down a little.😂😂
I can't believe it's not butter.
Yes, but I enjoy watching Moto GP.
If you watched MotoGP in '21 and '22, you def know Fabio. Would be very interesting to hear him on Pulp.
Pit Row
So basically no one’s heard of him but on a lie detector test you would have to say yes because of the pulp show
Fabio is pretty cool and rides mx a bit, probably a more relevant and engaging interview than Lechien.
Maybe, i don't know. I don't care for road racing.
There’s no way you really believe that. The reason why the privateers don’t “jump” over to street bike racing is purely because the street is much more elitist and exclusive, you can’t just buy a bike a come up through the ranks like anyone can in moto. Also our guys want to compete in the gnarliest, most physically demanding sport known to man. They are elite athletes, if they wanted to ride street bikes, they could go down to the shop and get a harley and rip it down the highway wide open. Probably even more thrilling/risky than racing the stupid things.
Dovi is one of many road racers I've heard who say their first love was the dirt bike. I watch it all, domestics, world superbikes, endurance and more. So many of these guys when describing their career story describe themselves as "failed motocross kids". It's the purest form of riding for sure
Not sure why this got downvoted
You make a great point, somehow we’re all talking about him.
And now it’s on Vital…
As a fan of the second best sport yes I know who Fabio is.
Matthes is myopic.
I’ve head of him now but Lechien is more interesting to the Pulp audience.
I've followed Fabio since 2018. Loved watching him ride the wheels off that Speed Up bike against the superior Kalex chassis.
His World Championship is so much more impressive because just like in 2018 on the Speed Up bike, the Yamaha we took home the title on was by far the inferior bike compared to the Ducatis. Supposedly Yamaha has found some more power for this season. I wonder if they've considered switching to a V4 instead of inline. With Suzuki gone they're the only inline 4 left.
Google Jean-Michel Bayle. Multi time AMA champion. 82 starts in Moto GP. Never made a podium.
