I won't argue the fact that the nation's public schools need a close examination and some substantial tweaking. But, the whole homeschooling situation needs some standardization and oversight. Buying the cheapest, grade appropriate curriculum and telling the kids to figure it out is not good. Sadly, that's what many folks are doing. My personal opinion about religious/church schools is completely negative. They are in the "indoctrination" business FIRST and foremost...hiding behind an educational facade. (I consider myself a Jesus loving person but they can stick their dogma where the sun don't shine). I wanted my kids exposed to the "Word"...not...

I suppose it depends on where I lived.....but for the most part, in this era and state our country is in, there is no fucking way I would let public schools "educate" my children if I had any. Public schools days are over.
