Sorry man. You are about 25 years too late. Sylvain is Eric's older brother.

The AMA doesn't even recognize the regional East/West 125 titles in their titile count.

That along with the question's wording "Best" career without a title. Lead me to vote KW. That guy's got to have more second and third place overall finishes than anyone. Plus, he's not done yet. I don't remember a season where he didn't finish out other than his femur injury.

Not knowing his financial status, it appears from the outside that he's pretty well set for life and maybe a little better off than most other non-title winners out there.

There's my vote. Second would be Lusk.

Keith Bowen...Not the best career but I think he did win a few outdoor nationals in one of the most competitive eras ever. He certainly had the raw speed and natural ability to run with the DB, RJ, O'mara, Ward, Hannah etc and perhaps win a title during the mid '80's. Unfortunately a few bad lifestyle choices and a lack of training cost him.

You are right. I remember seeing Bones at a million races. Had those long skinny legs and the bike would fly all around underneath him. One year at the Silverdome, when he was at his peak, we were watching near that long straight that had all the whoops. The top guys would launch off one and land on the down side of the next with a nice smooth style. Pretty much all looked like robots. Kieth would just nail it and blast thru them, sometimes turning them into triples. He would pass about 2 guys every time he went into that section. He looked like a crazy dude with a stuck throttle but it was all controlled.

I also remember him and Eddie Warren doing crazy 360's on their BMX bikes at Baja Acres back in the day. Didnt Kieth also put a handle bar end through his cheek at one point? He did have a lot of talent and ballz

Ok, so let's take it a step further. Of the new crop of youngsters, who will have the best career without a title?

Does this include titles with asterisks? If not I would go with Chad Reed.

How about career ruiners - Danny Storbeck (landed on Rick Johnson's wrist at the 89 Gainsville Nat)

I'm gonna have to go with Josh Grant.

Not counting regional SX titles...

Ezra Lusk
Damon Bradshaw
Kevin Windham

Those 3 in any order would be my picks....

All 3 have won numerous races, have beaten the best of the best on given days...

it should have been clarified at the start whether we are talking:

Major Title (AMA SX, AMA MX, FIM MX)......in this case, kevin windham or ryno...mamola was a great suggestion but wrong sport

or

any relevant title which i guess would include (MXdN, Regional SX, FIM Enduro, and ISDE)......i dont know who to pick in this one

and if were talking asterix free titles only......it gets even more confusing hahahah

Cut RJ's career by 3+ years. RJ would have won at least 3+ more titles. He would have given JMB a run in 1991.

MIKE BROWN, not counting 125 nationals in 01.
He couldn't find alot of sucsess on the big bikes,
But he's pushing 40 and not even considered a
Vet class event yet. still kicking but in the worcs
series!

And too, Larry Ward. Wasn't he the only guy to win
A national in three decades?

Best Career without a title or fastest/talented racer without a title? Tripes was maybe the most talented, but I don't think his career even begins to compare with someone like Windham.
