Probably one of the best 250 motors Kawi made in the '80s was that '87 KX250. Barked right off the bottom.

Like in NorCal and other regions, NorCal D-36 had Richmond Ramblers (think Dick Mann was a member), DDNMC and other clubs involved during this MX era.

Trained into my mid 30's, resting heart rate was mid to upper 40's, which was normal. CDC guidelines are still a good indicator. https://www.cdc.gov/physicalactivity/basics/measuring/heartrate.htm

GSS was stacked in the mid-end of '70s into the '80s. Local races were packed then. GSS had qualifiers for 125, 250 and Open classes with as many racers they had if I remember right. Great during the SX boom. Drive to a GSS and try making more in Pro ... more »

I have yet to see an athlete in any sport, who was great, let alone have a HOF career return after being several yrs removed. Damon Bradshaw was prob closest who wasn't gone due 2 injury. Just 21 in his first retirement, won 19 250 SX mains; returns ... more »

AMA required a photo copy of proof of health insurance when applying for your yearly Pro license if memory serves least 20+ yrs ago and carry the insurance card with you..They also had a bit of rider coverage the rider had to specifically state the injury ... more »

My condolences to the entire Denis family and dear friends. Thought Paul raced one of the last Saddleback 125 Nat'ls, but RX says he never raced any.Nat'ls. God Bless you Paul Denis. Think the late Tim Aston raced against Paul as well.
