HansiKursch Started a new thread Attendance at MXDN was pathetic
1/26/2012 12:04am 2007 Budd's Creek weekend attendance was listed at 75,000, broken down it looked like this: Sunday 40,000 Saturday 27,500 Friday 7500 In the past few weeks I read two interviews stating they expected the 2010 Colorado attendance to be 3X that of a National. This years Thunder Valley National drew 18,000 so the hoped for MXDN attendance was 54,000. The...

10/8/2010 8:26pm Red Bud is the closest track to me by far. But when most riders talk about tracks Unadilla is the first one out of their mouths. When most fans talk about tracks Unadilla is the first one out of their mouths. There are reasons Unadilla got the first American MXDN and all those reason are still valid. I would certainly...

9/27/2010 9:21am The 75,000 and the daily breakdown from Budd's Creek are official figures. The 32,000 at Thunder Valley is an official figure, the breakdown is an estimate based upon the 2007 daily breakdown so it could be that a few thousand more showed up on Sunday if a few thousand less were there on Friday and Saturday. The highest attendance ever...
HansiKursch Added a reply to Final Words on 2 Stroke vs 4 Stroke
10/21/2009 11:50pm No, it's a lot better to have the premier motorcycle riders on Earth riding second class machines instead of being on the fastest bikes possible. Hopefully they make similar changes to all sports soon....all NASCAR cars will be four cylinders, all NBA players will be under 6' tall, no NFL players over 175 pounds, MLB players will hit off a...

10/14/2009 11:58pm I say the manufacturers make bikes that drag big ol' anchors behind them slowing them down. The anchors cost somewhere around $2500 and wear out needing replacement often. Then they get rules passed that only bikes with the anchors can compete in sanctioned races Ridiculous? It's pretty much what's going on now.
HansiKursch Added a reply to How DC can save the 2010 US Nationals
10/13/2009 12:06am If teams cannot afford to make all the rounds it's their own fault. It wasn't that long ago that vans and box vans were the norm. Now everyone needs a million dollar rig with every amenity to satisfy every whim that pops up. If the teams were doing this outrageous spending and still staying afloat then that would be great...

10/11/2009 10:53pm If we could hold one race for all the marbles with every rider in the peak of their career riding equal bikes on a good, challenging outdoor track I don't think anyone could touch Ricky Johnson.
HansiKursch Added a reply to Apathy towards the MXdN?
4/17/2016 2:26am The people who don't respect the MXDN are people who are spoiled, the USA wins them all. Even this year, I don't think there is any question about who would win if Ricky unretired for a couple of weeks and Stewart was on the team. It's all taken for granted. People who remember the struggles the older teams had to...

9/10/2009 10:53pm O'Mara is an Irish name. I don't have a clue how Irish Johnny is though.
HansiKursch Added a reply to Flaggers
9/8/2009 11:59pm Passive flagmen is a problem, but overly aggressive riders are a big problem too, one that is getting visibly worse over the years. Pretty sure it used to be a rule that you couldn't double if a flag was out but if that's still a rule it's not enforced. When you come to a yellow flag there should be no...

9/8/2009 11:30pm I think your mate was jerking your chain. They had a bunch of them at Unadilla at the end of the day. While it's impossible for me to know how many were sold I can say that at the 3 Nationals I have been to this year I havn't seen a single person wearing one.
HansiKursch Added a reply to What is the affinity with Monster
9/4/2009 7:19pm Those drinks are great for 12 hour road trips into the wee hours of the morning to get home after a race. Monster doesn't even taste good though, No Fear is the best tasting one I have had.

8/30/2009 10:02pm 20 years ago riders were riding multiple classes at the same time on rougher tracks. Only 15-20 guys had factory rides and everyone else were privateers driving their own vans cross country to the races. The bikes were just as powerful but only had 1/2 the handling, 1/2 the smoothness, 1/2 the brakes, 1/2 the reliability and 1/2 the ergonomics.

8/30/2009 12:58am There's about 15 guys from the 70's and at least 20 from the 80's that would have destroyed Stewart. Winning due to lack of competition doesn't make you great.

8/28/2009 11:14pm Hands down, any day of the week. Equally skilled riders on equal displacement bikes and the two stroke will eat the four stroke for lunch. If it wasn't the case why wouldn't they need all these crazy class rules to keep the two strokes down.

8/23/2009 6:51pm From watching the video it looks like she did everything correctly. It's the dude who came out and tried to get her to hold the sign back up who screwed up. Then when the bikes started coming he made like George Costanza during a fire at a kids birthday party.

8/19/2009 10:29pm This is the absolute worst thing that could ever happen for International motocross in the USA. Only the most hardcore fans are going to fly to see the race. Only the most hardcore fans are going to drive 20 or 25 hours to see the race. For 98% of the country though that's exactly what you have to do. Budd's...

8/17/2009 9:17pm You should watch again at 2:10, you only see the hill for a few seconds. Ricky Johnson goes up it then you see Jeff Ward go up about 1/2 way then it cuts to another part of the track. There is no part of any National track that is close to that uphill in terms of roughness and there hasn't...
