They will improve the Broadcast quality as whole, thats for sure... but the whole thing just looked so 'sterile'. Kinda pointless.
If I were WSX I'd honestly considering switching everything for 2023.... like, forget US riders, go find promissing youngsters from other countries (like, go to Botswana, Chile, Taiti, Macau.. look for that "good rider" and invest in them with your million bucks!) and change the classes: Lites class with Electric bikes (for marketing reasons) and use 2 strokes for the top class because OF COURSE YOU SHOULD DO THAT! Be different for f*cks sake. WE WANT TWO STROKES haha u'know..?

I guess the formats OK but the motors need to be longer. What's the deal with European rounds always looking like they're filmed in a basement? Supercross here in the US is always bright and vibrant. The European Supercross's always seem to be dark and dreary.

I'll watch any race, but I think in order to compete with US Supercross, they need to take a lot of feedback. I'm not a big fan of time qualifying, go back to heats, semi's and lcq's. More racing less pageantry.

To me, Vince the Friese is a kind of legend. How can you not respect Friese's career? Friese is a tough dude. He's always there. He's doing his own thing and it works. #RespecttheFriese. Props to McElrath and Blose as well.

The Boost mobile girl was very fatty compared to the US monster girls. My girlfriend liked it, she said it was inclusive. I replied : No moto, it's bench racing right now. She said : What ? I said : Sometimes Ugly people doesn't like beauty and she left. I was able to watch WSX with ease after that. All good.

Alright I stop reading peoples comment when they start comparing the weight of the 30 second board chicks 🤨 🤦

Better than I expected!

Looked like a decent amount of people in attendance, hard to tell since the lower level was blocked off. Racing was good. Short mains kept Eli from running away with it. The rest of the results were a mixed bag which is good. That stadium looked huge. Everyone knows chassis mounted cameras don't work for offroad. Too many replays. I only watched the mains on YouTube, hope everyone that went to it had a good time.

Can't believe they want to run this in the summer against mxgp and ama outdoors.

This format in my opinion takes away the glory. Vince has finished 16,16,12,20,14,18th respectively overall. I guess my thing is all these dudes are fast enough to holeshot and have a chance at a win.

Shit sucked. The format is garbage. I don’t give a fuck about watching 15 heat races back to back.
I’d actually like it if they let every 450 and 250 guy run superpole for gate picks. Then run 30+2 motos. Give guys time to make moves, give time for battles to happen. Instead I feel like the race was over as soon as it started.
Ralph and emig are just dog shit. Throw them goofy mfers to the slaughterhouse already.
I did like the DJ concept. Having big music guys play at events only helps.
And fuck the onboard cameras can’t see shit no ways.
And the freaking replays? It’s already a 4minute race. I actually wanna see some of the race happen. Instead they just showed replay after replay of what happened while they were showing replays. Wouldn’t need all those replays if y’all just showed the race.

Is anyone talking about the massive amount of exhaust hanging in the stadium all night? No ventilation at all. There's no way the fan's eyes aren't irritated more than Minneapolis SX was.

How about that 450 podium presentation? Mess up the finish order, then fix it, confusion. Hear a word from some old guy saying the word "World Supercross" for the 600th time in the same broadcast, confusion. Then as he's about to pass out the trophies, the kid from AMA supercross says "now pop the shampagne" as the riders wonder wtf is going on and where are the trophies to take a picture first...then they missed the national anthem from the winner like in 250..
FIM did worse than I thought they could. Congrats guys. Can't wait until January for the real thing.

So Eli broke his tie with Chad at 44 wins right? According to Ralph?
Ralph was acting like this was an AMA SX al the way through the show.. WTF is he thinking? I enjoyed the racing, love the extended season for the $$ that riders can make, but WSX isn’t an AMA championship race! The win count for AMA SX hasn’t changed, and it won’t change until January..

Anyone with the notion that the WSX promoters are trying to do something for the overall good of MX/SX is so mistaken. Their goal is to make lots of money and do so by diminishing the MXGP series and the AMA MX series. Their goal wasn’t to have Vince Friese winning which is what we would’ve seen without Roczen or Tomac being paid by the series to race. Next year their wish would be to have Friese outside the top 10 because the fate is so stacked. Stacked with guys that aren’t raving in the other series who normally would be. For them to be successful the other series need to take a big hit in talent jumping ship.

I personally enjoyed it, what a time to be alive.

It's given guys like mcelrath, blose and those other guys scratching a living out in the AMA system a real chance to make money and have a good career. How can anybody not want wsx to succeed?

The reality is it'll only get better, can't wait for Melbourne!

Anybody know how many attended?

Just sat down and watched this. What a waste of time. Arenaacross track, hardpack, couple fast guys, some old guys, and some never weres. Won’t be watching the 2nd and last round of this “world championship” joke.

Not going to happen. In my opinion, the only way this works is for them to let go of world championship label and focus on an off season series that starts in October and runs through December with big payouts and show up $. They could attract a lot of guys even it not for all the races and incorporate it with the Australia events.

Why is it that it can only get better? The biggest complaint anyone has is the lack of top talent. Close to half the 450 field is retired US racers Some of them got injured. Eli isn’t at the next race. Exactly how is that going to get better?

The better this series does, the better our riders get treated at home. We have tons of talented riders falling through the cracks, more racing/competition isn't a bad thing.

I watched it this afternoon. I was not impressed. Cameras missed a lot of action. Emig didn’t even know J Grant crashed. No decent footage of Reed’s get off. Fender cam was terrible. Way too much hype of this series being ground breaking when it isn’t. Without Tomac and Roczen the riders are retired-past their prime or 2nd/3rd tier AMA SX guys, with s few euros sprinkled in. Sure it was nice to see some off season racing but it’s not even close to the racing Feld is putting on.

And to those who say cut them a break, it’s their first attempt at this……. they have had DECADES to watch, copy, learn from and improve upon what Feld has done and they fell woefully short. Pretty amazing in my opinion.

It was racing so I enjoyed it , but let's face it without Roczen and Tomac the stock goes way down . And you only have Roczen at the next round as a top level rider . I really think they should go to a single timed main for each class also .
I liked the Superpole .
They obviously haven't learned that cutting away from the lead battle for a start highlight is a bad idea . Both series' are guilty of that .
Overall though I was entertained .

I was there last night, and despite everything I’m about to say I still enjoyed the night of racing and would go again next year if they come back.

The more I think about it, the more I realise it was a real mess. It started off poorly, in opening ceremonies they introduced each team 1 by 1 but they were not updated or accurate rider rosters as far as I could tell, so they were announcing guys who were not even there or were riding for other teams and not mentioning guys who were there, this shouldn’t be difficult to get right.

Then before and during the first 250 heat, Roger Warren, the in stadium announcer, was saying that it was the first 250 main race and they were going to do the first race and line up straight away again, even though there was only 11 guys on the gate. They never made it clear to anyone in the stadium what the 250 heats were actually for, because everyone is already in the main. They explained that the Top 5 in each 450 heat went through to Superpole, but then when Superpole came round, they never said what it was for (points, Gate selection, money etc.) and they sent the riders out in the wrong order.

The main event format is almost impossible to follow in the stadium. The races are too short and too close together so there’s not enough emphasis on them and they just feel like more heats instead of main events, and because the winner is an overall across the three races and the stadium announcers couldn’t could give us updated scores after the first two, it was impossible to know who actuallly won the 250 class until the podium presentation afterwards. Blose got 2nd overall and I barely noticed him out there in any of the mains, which must be confusing to a lot of fans, especially casual fans or first time fans.

Also I’m concerned that in terms of rider participation it will never get any better than this. It’s the off season so it’s easy for Tomac and Roczen to jump in for 1 or 2 rounds, but if it runs during the main season for AMA/MXGP, I fail to see how they attract that calibre of rider again. Especially with the stance that Honda have taken and I’m sure other manufacturers will take.

It was still entertaining and I’m glad I went, but overall I don’t really see what makes this anything special or anything different to Paris or Geneva. It’s the first one so I’m sure it will improve, but you only get one chance to make a first impression and they shit the bed a little bit

Bunch of Nancy’s complaining. Please. I thought it was pretty good for a first event. Sure it had some kinks to work out, but I bet the people in Wales were stoked. Looking forward to the next one.

Must of spent all the money on paying Eli and Kenny to race and couldn’t afford real tough boxes. How can the FIM the world leader in Motorsport sanction events allow something like that ? That’s a risk to the riders safety.
What is the purpose of a tuff-block? No, not the ones gathered around a solid structure, I mean the ones marking the side of the track.

If a rider lands on a (real) tuff-block, what usually happens?
Versus landing on one of those ‘tuff-blocks’?
