While at the Swedish mxgp 2 years ago, the guy on the loud said the race was being broadcast to over 220 million people Woohoo I'm not sure if he was just quoting everyone that had Internet access, or that he actually thort 220 Million people streamed the raceLaughing

RC's last season, when he and JS7 battled until Stew endoed was the previous biggest crowd imo (crowd estimates for that day were close to 30,000). I'd say Sunday at MXoN was probably 20% bigger than that national. I'm guessing close to the 40,000 range.
I was at RC 's last race and I beg to differ. I think Saturdays crowds was much larger than RC's last race. Id say it was 25% more. And sunday was probably 40-50% larger.

Agreed. Felt the place would have been jam packed to the point it would be difficult to walk anywhere if not for the rain. Maybe that was just a fear as I had to crutch it all weekend.

Yup MXGP posted 78,300 on their website. In 2018 they said 83k. I personally think Sunday looked a little lighter in 2022 but Saturday was packed this year.

2022 definitely seemed more packed than 2018. I know a lot of people that didn’t go in 2018 even though they had purchased tickets due to the weather, so maybe ticket numbers tell a different story.

I think Sunday’s weather turned some people off again but it still was very, very busy. Red Bud has so many different areas for the crowd it can be a little misleading when looking at certain photos but there’s a hill in the middle of the track and each side has equal amounts of fans.

Brought this up to my girl, she says you're crazy too haha! I felt the exact opposite. No room to even move in 2018 but was totally comfortable this year. Bummer on the crutch brother! I noticed a bunch of injured warriors toughing it out at the race this year. Crutches, slings, casts, etc.

I know the place i parked on sunday in 2018 (which was slammed packed with parking) there werent event any cars out that far this year. Not sire that means anything as parking could have been off site.
In 2018 if you walked out the entrance where the selling shit there were cars as far as the eye could see. I saw plenty on open field there yesterday.
I thought 2018 was more crowded but it was close though. Both were waayy more than any national ive been to there (4 of them).

Because of the conditions the parking areas were different. Well I don’t know it was because of the conditions but I do know where I parked this weekend couldn’t have been reached in 2018. I think they also expanded the camping areas. I made sure to rent a four wheel drive truck this time. Laughing

Pretty much every major multi day event announces their attendance as a combined number meaning it may have been 30k Saturday and 50k Sunday.

SoCal doesn't deserve this race, they get too spoiled and I think Washougal crowds, Red Bud, Budd's Creek are amazing places to have the MXON, with fans that really appreciate it.

Thanks to the track owners for a great event, they did their best to keep the crappers clean, and even had a few tractors to tow us out of Lot B, and had lots of food options, fur sue guys that were "ruffin' it".

The stripper shouldn't have been arrested though....

Need to pop over to England for a GP or MXDN, there is a dedicated tent for men with money to flash on said ladies, not for me though I rented and took my own 😜

I've attended 5 MXDNs, four in the US, in addition to numerous nationals. This was easily the largest MX crowd I've ever seen. Sunday's crowd was quite a bit bigger than Sunday in 2018 to my eye. It was difficult walking around the infield on Sunday because people were so jammed in.

I agree this was a great event, and the Red Bud people were over the top in making sure things ran as smoothly as possible. Despite the huge crowds both days, we never experienced super long waits, signage was very good, RB employees were knowledgeable and friendly, and it seemed the track management learned some lessons from the great deluge of 2018. Despite the rain Sunday, it was pretty easy to get around, and the atmosphere was electric. They worked tirelessly on the race track on Sunday to make it the best racing surface possible with the waves of rain that came and went all day.

Expensive but memorable experience.

Bear in mind in 2018 they moved the track to ' give more room for fans' , and this year they didnt, from the aerial shots , saturday didnt look as busy as i expected, sunday looked decent, and right around 35,000 , going in and out twice, which is what InFront do..

It looked a great event, i am guessing , like always , we will never know how many went.

He’s probably referencing the off camber corner section that was all crowd area last time.

The people camped next to us were gone after morning warm ups. Apparently they came for the sounds of air horns and chainsaws.

I just hope the Ritchie family makes enough to get that facility back up to its pristine level. It’s embarrassing how many people leave behind piles of beer cans and garbage wherever they go. There’s weeks of clean up.

That area is the best kept secret at this race… very few venture over there, and it’s actually a pretty good place to watch from.
