Ah ok, it was mentioned a few times people thought it was using a Suzuki engine temporarily.

So obviously the KTM engine is only for testing, and will be replaced and Triumph are more than capable of turning out a decent engine, but does this mean it is gonna be a true Triumph ground up job or is there gonna be other parts sharing?

Guessing if the engine is gonna be Triumph and from what else you said it fully confirms it's not gonna be just another different coloured KTM? So that's good news. Is saying Steel or Ali frame giving too much away? Not trying to take the piss just pretty interested. Cheers 👍

The engine I have no idea of except it will be developed in house after an agreement fell through with a 3rd party company to produce the engine that is not a current OEM.

Sounds like it’s no where close to being final production stages. Can’t imagine seeing anything from them until 2023 if the engine isn’t even being tested yet. Also seems bizarre to test chassis with a different engine. Engine will affect chassis characteristics.
I really don't think the engine characteristics play quite the role they used to in overall chassis testing. I mean, all the major manufacturers now use the same chassis for 250 and 450, which certainly don't have similar engine characteristics. And the Austrians use the same base chassis design for an insanely broad range of motors and applications.

It seems like the goal has become much like the automotive industry. Develop the overall base platform first, and then design all the various implementations that can spur off that platform.

Wouldn't that be a self-answering question?

Down side of no noise can go anywhere !
They are and the locals don’t care if it makes a noise or not

No triumph race team until 2024. And I think same for Beta.

Where the economy is headed right now, it's probably not a good time to be sticking your corporate neck out too far.

KTM went out on a limb in 08. It was a gamble that paid off and yes it was a strategic move to steal market share. We were told about it at a dealer meeting.

I imagine Triumph might be a bit more bold with some RedBull money behind them.

I agree. My Stark arrives in October though.

People just don't consider the problems that noise pollution causes for tracks. It closes them, and prevents them from opening. But, if you like lots of noise, you prolly don't give no shi!s 'bout what nobody thinks, anyways.

Now, just add rear-fender misting devices to keep the dust down, and we'll soon have MX tracks in every neighborhood.

Oh, and down-vote the hell out of this post,

When they attacked the local orv spot here it wasn't noise they went after erosion to use against us. E bikes will have that problem too.

Here they were trying to get the bmx track shut down because the falling gate made too much noise...

Yep…. Here it’s dust, if it’s not dust it’s some lizard they are trying to protect.

A lot of (most) Triumphs bikes are built in Thailand, but developed in Hinkley UK. There's factory at HHinkley, but they produce around 4500 bikes per year which are protoypes and specialists models. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

One presumes they must have development models already. Whether they been testing or not who knows.
Yep, your right...My 07 Speedmaster was built inThailand

any business that is connected to the grid can offer the service of charging. Gyms, grocery store, MX track, strip club are all viable places to charge your ev. NO need for a huge tank of fuel underground and trucks to constantly refill, just sell the electricity that is already wired to the business

This is only true if your business/building has enough extra capacity to run a charger without effecting the current business operation. For example, most fast chargers use 480v 100amp service and 95% of businesses, unless commercial, will only have a single 100amp service supply.

It is also illegal to re-sell utilities in most jurisdictions without proper permits and safety’s in place.

This is not to say that’s not a viable idea for the future, the infrastructure just isn’t there at this time.
How does the capacity of the business matter? Seems like the capacity of the grid is more relevant? Most businesses can offer 240 that will get you something while to go shopping, work out or eat dinner, as long as you pay for it. That's a win win for a business. If it's illegal to resell utilities than how do Tesla chargers do it?

It’s not the capacity of the grid either. It’s the capacity of the producer that powers the grid. CPan is correct. The infrastructure isn’t there. We currently don’t have enough power (rolling blackouts) and if we were to be able to build more power plants the infrastructure (grid) would have to be re designed to be able to handle it all the way down to your homes’/businesses service. It’s not as simple as the figure heads sell it as…

11 pages deep... after nearly a year.... and still not even a teaser pic.... triumphs marketing dept either does not exist at all, or is so bad that it actively works against its own company.... either way.... this project is off to an ugly start... at least cannondale actually ended up making a bike....

11 months ago they merely announced their intent to enter the motocross and off-road markets. I've not seen anywhere that they put a timeline on their development, which is wise. They are not accepting deposits or promising delivery by a certain date. The bike will be ready when it's ready. Do you really believe they are going to fail to produce a bike? This is Triumph, not some start up artificially propped up by VC.

The riding gear/jerseys should look like old leather with rivets with Triumph etched/embossed in leather. ..

I thought I read something that was eluding to Triumph making some sort of announcement in July. Wonder when and what it will be about.
