I heard this with car sales in NYC. Dealers asking $62,000 for a car that lists at $42,000. The only way the dealer can pull this off is if some idiot pays it instead of finding a dealer somewhere selling it for list. It’s amazing that there is a public out there supporting these actions.

I paid whatever they wanted for my 21, which was 10k OTD in WA. Buyers have nearly ZERO leverage in this market. Pretty much anyone getting a deal is buying the bike at MSRP with no fees. Fees and taxes/reg added like $1800. Outrageous.

Bikes aren't gonna get any cheaper, just maybe more available. And IMO, used market for 1-4 year old bikes is stupid. Might as well buy new. In my area, they are asking 7000-8500 for these machines. I have post in my area for a 2019 YZ125 with over 40 hours. $7500 lol. Post has been up for over a month though, because who tf is gonna pay that much for a used bike.
You hold the money and you say you have no leverage? We wonder how they have these prices way over list and it’s because people are buying at that price.

They were going to sell the bike at that price. Also close to 900 of that is sales tax and registration. Every bike was pretty much gone within 150 miles of me.

And everyone who paid the exorbitant price is to blame for that ridiculous price to exist in the first place. It should be the fool prices himself out of sales not the other way around. You can’t complain if you’re willing to bite the bullet. Those who aren’t willing can complain though.

Ah yes, its because me and so many other people who are willing to pay that much are the sole reason it costs that much. Not inflation, materials, R&D, or any other reason that also plays a factor. Yup! You are right. Bikes have only evolved and gotten better since 1980 but they would still only cost 5000 or whatever they did back then if we didnt buy them for 10k. Genius. Lets boycott.

Bread should also only cost $.10 a loaf too

I was able to get the RMZ 250 I have had my eyes on for the last 8-9 weeks. Sure, I would have preferred a new bike, but I saved about $3,000 vs buying a new YZ 250F, paid $5,500 which might not be a steal but I felt it was fair.

2019 RMZ 250 with about 10 hours based on the built in hour meter. This thing had low hours and wasn't in bad shape and we cleaned it up even better after bringing it home.

while many people got their financial butts kicked during covid, others made insane bank! Many moved from jobs paying sub $10 an hour, to jobs starting at over 20... and that's just the poor, it was the rich that made the truly insane cash.... a lot of flush people out there right now, and many for the first time in their lives... many just have it... f'ed up i know after such a worldwide calamity, but it is what it is...

Regardless of what anyone says the rmz’s are great bikes, and I would rather have it then the yz250f(had a 19’ and hated it)

No offense man but I could have got a brand new 2022 CRF 250R for $8099 OTD. You are likely going to have to come down some to sell it.

Where can you get a 22 CRF250R for that price in this market? PA isn't too far away for a good deal. Dealers around here were nowhere near 8099 OTD. Most dealers were 9,500 to 10,200 OTD after tax, freight and fees, IF they could even get one before June. I'm not saying you didn't get that price quoted, I would genuinely like to know as that would be where my next bike is purchased from. Anything YZ, CRF, KX (note you can find RMs lower) and newer than 2021 with low hours is around 8.5k in the used market right now....so I don't think his 8k is way off the mark.

It was listed above in this thread.

Ridersville Cycle in Berkley Springs WV quoted me $8099 and I confirmed a 2nd time on that price, you will have to pay cash for that price. If you want the title add your state tax onto the purchase of the bike.

Romney Cycles in WV said they could sell me a YZ 250F for $8407 OTD, same deal that's with cash. They had new 2022 RMZ 250s for around $7,300, but sold the last 2 in stock about a month ago.

THE BIKES ARE OVERPRICED for the smallest advancements they've made since 2008. Not much has really changed other than Fuel Injection, Electric Start, & ECU mapping. The rest of the hardware is almost unchanged. That doesn't increase price by 60%. I understand material costs go up because of inflation, but not as much as we've seen.

I got my YZ at Romney a year ago. And a couple years before that we got my wife’s KLX140L at Ridersville. Both are really good dealers that don’t BS or try and pull a bait and switch. They are my go to for bikes now and between both dealers every brand is covered except maybe GasGas.

Wanted to bump this thread to see what people are getting for ‘22 KX and RMZs. Called a dealer that showed a KX250 for $6,300, called them and they’re telling me it’ll be $8,500 OTD. $2,200 in taxes and dealer fees?! I couldn’t believe it.

Oh yeah it’s absolutely ridiculous. I think it should be illegal to advertise x amount below the OTD price.

I’ve got 2 2022 kx 250s. Stellar condition. Would sell 1 of them if I had a buyer interested. I’m in Southern California so won’t be much good you though.

I called a dealer that had a 2022 Rmz 250 for sale similar it was like $5999 but after fees like $7800. I think when you see a bike that much below msrp you have to expect the fees to be added in.

Ridersville Cycle in WV sells bikes for msrp. My dad paid msrp for 23 CRF 250R (cash sale), they had leftover
2022 Kawis in stock for $100 or $200 below msrp back 8 weeks ago. I think he has 3 23s in stock now, should be for msrp. If you are close and paying cash its worth it.

When my dad started looking for bikes we called 4 or 5 other Honda dealers everyone else had at least $1,000 in fees (not including taxes).

OTD prices seem to vary a good bit due to some paying taxes and others not required to pay them. This can swing the OTD price $1,000 or more depending on the states that are being compared.

Suzuki of Van Nuys has brand new 2022 RMZ 250’s listed at $5,500. I mentioned it in the Suzuki thread that I’m highly considering pulling the trigger on that.

I found a 2019 rmz 250 that looks like it has about 10-20 hours on it with a title for 6000. 2020 kx 250f with 10 hours looks a little more worn but still good shape 5800. Another 2020 kx 250f with 10 hours that looks good for 6200. All 3 have titles.

Funny that all used bikes have "10 hours" on them.
This is sooo funny because one of my bikes 2016 KX450 actually has about 10 hours on it and it really is like showroom new. I might have to lie if I ever decide to sell it and say it has more than 10 hours 😂😍 My 2014 has over 60 hours and it looks new also. I have better photos of them on my Instagram CraigBrosho

I bought a New 2022 KX250 from Wheels In Motion in Chatsworth, CA in late June of this year. Cost me $6,540 OTD. I live in DFW Texas area. I had it shipped to my door for another $750.
Total deal was nearly $7300.00, but I saved over $1600 INCLUDING the $750 shipping from buying at local DFW dealerships OTD prices.

You need to call dealerships to find out what the price is out the door.
