How long before Roczen and Sexton stop talking to each other?

Besides the absolutely glorious display of technique watching those two float effortlessly around a track together, it was pretty interesting to see the aggressive defense by 94. I wouldn't call it cross jumping, but he didn't think twice about controlling the track.

Watching Chas have to (and do it) change lines in the whoops, there had to be some some temper rising in that gelmet. He crashed shortly after....

Chase seems to have the same issues as AC staying on two wheels. If Chase becomes a legitimate threat and stops falling off then I can see this happening.

The cross jump and line change in the whoops definitely wasn't right. A collision would have been 100% on Kenny. I don't think he did it on purpose, maybe just didn't expect Chase to be that close.
1 round in and the only 2 top guys without and drama are the #94 and #1. I guess the #3 wasn't involved in any drama either but just didn't have the speed.

Im not sure why they have to stop talking to each other. Creating drama and hate taxes the mental game and hurts focus.

That was Sextons race to win, he was too nice…. Roczen took him out of his rhythm…… Sexton has a decision to make…. Is he happy being #2 or does he want to make a statement……maybe go watch some late 80”s-90”s Sx…teammates sounds nice but this is and always has been an individual sport….

Yeah, but it happens. Anyway, I probably framed that wrong. I'm more interested in the old bull vs young bull dynamic. It's always interesting to watch. Just a few years ago we were watching Roczen push Dungey the way Chase did to him last night. I wasn't sure if we were going to get that this year, but Chase cleared that up.

I was kinda struck by how easy Chase seemed to be doing it, how he looked on the bike… while following Kenny.
Kenny’s style has changed a bit since the arm injuries, but still so efficient, and yet Chase made that look like a chilled Tuesday practice… and then he didn’t!

Yes, he looked like he was easily sizing Kenny up, riding different lines looking for options, not struggling to stay with Ken.

Which makes Sexton's crashes perplexing. Just riding that knife edge I suppose and look smooth until you crash.

Sexton is definitely the future. I just hope Kenny bags at least 1 SX championship before he calls it a career.

Sexton is similar to ciancirulo, he has the speed to win but ends up on the ground. He is the future at honda but you can't be the number 1 guy there until you start beating the number 1 guy and roczen is the only one there doing the winning.

A few crashes and rookie mistakes, yes, but he is also only 22, I don't think Sexton is that much of a crasher, he has an insane technique so he should be alright. Of all the riders right now, I also think he is the one that can get to that next level like Tomac was indoors from 16 or 17.

The one time Kenny rides a wide bike and people are saying Chase is gonna stop talking to him? Nah. That’s a vet rider riding within his limits and forcing the young kid into a mistake.

Seems I was watching a different race to some of you?
What I saw was experience vs youth. One riding with class and the other riding with exuberance.

Roczen knows it’s the first half of the first race of the season, he’s out in front, riding smart and controlling the pace. Sexton was fast as hell and desperate to make the pass, which just as it usually goes, leads to a mistake/s.

As soon as Sexton learns patience in those situations, he’ll have a shot at being the champ, but not before.

Chase is gonna get rough with Ken, then Webb’s gonna get rough with Chase. Then Ken and Webb are gonna start their own team and be best friends and start doing family vacations together.

Was thinking about this after the Js7 and Chase comments in their recent interviews….

It’s kinda funny - if Chase had shit technique and crashed as much as he does, he might get a different label… that technique also makes us all think he’s perfectly in control. But we’ve heard multiple people like KW and Craig tell us they’re trying their asses off it just looks that way, so maybe Chase is really pushing too and he still needs to find the 98% range where it works.

I'm not really a Sexton fan, but his riding impressed me the most last night. Had he not gone down twice, we'd be celebrating his first win. It's coming, and I take back my previous statement about him only getting one win this year.

Sexton was too kind to Hondas ex n.1 rider. If he just passed him and rode away he hadnt made those mistakes and kept his own flow.
