I said vet riders after 25 should just be a vet rider.

I was ran off the track 4 separate times by a 55+ racer last week. He went left to right and right to left chopping off my line before jumps and down steep hills at budds - on a practice day.

Age is not the only factor with riding IQ.

I have to 100% disagree that being 25 makes you a Vet rider. If anything, you shouldn't be able to ride any Vet classes until you are 35.

So at 34 you want to line up with 13 year olds

But at 50 you wouldn’t line up with a 25-34 year old?

Doesn’t make any sense to me at all.

Well, 13 year olds are typically still on 85s or super minis so that doesn't really make sense.

At 25 I was still competing for Overalls at local off road races and running mid pack in the A class at local moto....at 35 my life has changed drastically and I'd rather race dudes my own age.

You can't want less classes but also want Vet classes to start at a younger age, that doesn't even make sense.

And this is how it will never get pared down.

Gotta race with my own age as opposed to the same speed

If a 34 year old is the same speed as a 55 they belong together

I agree there’s a cut off tho as 16-22 ish can be pretty damn immature and wild.

But by 25? 30? You’re pretty damn mature all things considered.

Anyway whatever doesn’t matter peace out.

Axell Hodges should be doing every SX Halftime Show. Faces of jumps should never be watered. Removing the hip-gyrating 30-second board girls was a crime against humanity. I’d like to see a CRF TooFiddy WORKS edition. Loud “new country” music blaring at my local motocross races needs to be ceased. New class for racers where their entire gear/kit/ package, cost under $200. The Racer X party in Morgantown should be revived. Lets get the two-strokes involved. Don’t stagger start Vet classes with A Classes. We can only do four (4) laps, not seven (7).

This is supposed to be a thread about controversial opinions. There is nothing controversial about what you have to say in your post. Dead nuts on!

SX needs head to head races that pay out points to the championship (think Amsoil Arenacross)

I love 4 strokes but the Ama is criminally negligent in screwing privateers and manufacturers over by not allowing 250 2 strokes in the 250 class. To make a 50hp 250 2 stroke is a couple thousand dollars, to make a 50hp 250f is a couple 10s of thousands of dollars. They both now have similar weight, hp, torque, let em race... They do it at some amateur races and overseas, the fact they refuse to budge is an indictment on their competence.

Theyre making it so much harder and more expensive to compete without factory level support in the 250 class and its negatively impacting the sport. Theyre making it so ppl with less money have absolutely no shot to make it anywhere in this sport. We should want everybody to have a shot to compete at whatever level and their lack of changing on this rule has kept who knows how many riders from entering and then succeeding in this sport.

We didnt have Vet classes here i n the UK at all , then a few clubs started running 40+ classes back in the late 80's , which was decent, back then, there was a big gap where guys left the sport at 30 cos they didnt want to ride with guys who didnt have the same on the line on a monday morning.

Now Vet here starts at 35, which is about right, i am racing guys 20 years younger, than me, which isnt great , but i can live with.

I think a retired pro running a national on a stock bike is a pretty good marketing slogan and statement!

Racers should use the Race Number they earned from the previous year's points.

Electric dirtbikes (Altas) are rad, and electric dirtbikes are the future of this sport.

They should have their names taken off the back of the jerseys, too. Put another sponsor there. In fact, riders names shouldn’t be allowed in the broadcast and they should be forced to wear Covid masks and sunglasses at all time so we can’t see their faces. Let’s erase all personal branding opportunities so these gimps can spend less making money for themselves and more time shilling for companies.

There should be no C class at Lorettas. You don't need a novice national champ.
Shouldn't give out a national championship in a B or C class.

Should get a sandbagger award.

Ya know, the nice thing about having a legit "old guy" class is NOT having to line up with so many "crazies". Even when I race against the "Vets" (Over 30) and "Sr. Vets" (Over 40)...I still end up, every so often, racing against some crazies that run into ya or fly off the track...or worse...

I get a whole helluva lot LESS of that in Over 50.

Also, I was talkin' to Don Maeda at Day in the Dirt, you know, the guy with all those races he's got goin' on out here...? He's not havin' ANY problem with all the various classes. In-fact, he's had some epic turn-out and seems to be lovin' life. Which is nice. Oh, by the way, he races 0ver 50 "Intermediate"...when he's more likely an Expert. So, there's always that!

I'm jus' sayin'...Laughing

MX Sports should pay the tracks to hold a National and they tracks would then have money to increase the pro purse, Saturday qualifiers and lower the riders cost for entries and increase the rider turnout. Lower the spectator price with free pits and stop the non compete rules for vendors.

Or they can just not go to Glen Helen because the 11 other tracks on the schedule seem to look forward to hosting the national every season.
