Practice one year at Washougal a kid was hanging over the fence in a right hand turn waving his hand Stewart went outside and gave him a high five. Next lap there a few more kids doing it and he went out side pinned it and have them all high fives next lap every kid was hanging over wanting to get a high five from Stewart.
Thats a super rad story, would have loved to see that.. I can picture it, kids get it..

Need ESPN or whomever to break out the vault and get this shit online. Most of these look like they were filmed on a potato!

I’d love to see a combined highlight video of all these. Man that would be close to an hour long lol. Unreal talent

Still mind blowing. He made guys like dungey Kenny and Barcia look like a local a class kid makes a c class kid look. He literally blew by dungey like he was sitting still

I was absolutely glued to the TV watching that. One of the most incredible rides you’ll ever see. Stewart did things his whole career that just made you say wow.

Yeah, this is a fun thread! Wish we still had a rider out there like James that was that exciting to watch, and could create the same wonder that he did. There were some that loved him...and many that didn't, but you sure can't deny that James Stewart was something special.

Im gutted I never saw the FMOTP ride in person. Dude was hands down the fastest man to ever ride a dirtbike.

To add to the list: When he squared RV2 up and cut inside him over a little rise in SX - such a bizarre line no one else would ever think to take.

Washougal 2003. Stewart is coming through the pack in Moto 2. He goes through the s-turn and dropped down the hill right before the Chuck Sun (?) tabletop in the center of the track. In 2003 there was a mini-whoop/step-up. He wheelied that single and continued wheeling all the way until his front tire touched half-way up the face of the table. THEN, he scrubbed the shit out of the table so hard. My dad and I looked at each other and both said to each other, jinx-style, "DID YOU SEE THAT?! HOLY SHIT!"

I saw this in person and it looked way crazier... but check the 2:21 mark here.

1) Bubba!!!

2) I miss the hell out of David Bailey on commentary.

3) I wish we had better footage of all these 2000's eras races.

I don't think there has ever been a rider with more "OMG" moments in their career than James. So, seeing that scrub last Saturday got me thinking about all his "OMG" moments throughout his career and thought I would make a list of them. If anyone have pics or videos, post them. And no, I'm not talking about the crashes!

1. 2002 jumping a quad at Phoenix SX on a 125.
2. 2003 jumping a quad at Vegas SX on a 125.
3. 2003 Bubba Scrub at Budds Creek MX
4. 2004 triple, triple, triple at Vegas SX on a 125.
5. not sure what year, jumping laroccos leap on a 125.
6. 2007 scrubbing pass on RC at A1.
7. 2007 jumping the entire whoop section at LV SX.
8. 2010 jumping a rhythem lane in 2 jumps at US open
9. 2011 triple, triple, quad at A2.
10. 2011 jumping tha wall jump at Daytona.
11. 2011 jumping a quad at LV SX.
12. many, many practice videos.

I know there's many more. Can you add to the list? I know the JS7 bashers will be along any minute to post stupid shit!
Jumping over the wall in Daytona should be number 1 to number 10 in the OMG/WTF/HIH list. Then, you can continue the list at number 11. That was the gnarliest most dangerous thing he’s ever done and I pretty much saw all of his OMGs & WTFs live...

Toronto SX 17th to 1st has to be on the list. He was jumping some kind of different rhythm after the finish line that just killed.

James was the best 125 rider of all time. But another thing that video reminds me of is how good Bailey is as a race commentar. Would love to see him back in the booth.

I don’t know the year, it was at Lorettas, he went around that long circular sweeper that borders a pond, outside berm on a screaming KX100. In the lead. Never let off. Mouths dropped.

I can just feel that morning practice vibe in this pic. I've been to Washougal once and it's enough for me to feel like I'm there, a little bleary eyed and a cup of coffee in hand saying to my self omg!

Nice little interview. Couldnt help it but to smile when he talked about him making two singles at home into a big double on his 100cc, hahah. (no video sorry)

Edit: Also sorry this is not on track with the topic haha

Its too bad James 125 days took place during the years of VHS. So much detail in his riding style lost to shitty VCR's that needed their tracking adjusted...& if you know what that means you're old like me.

James was just cracking it off the Chuck Sun jump that morning, resulting in my first and only ad sale for one capture.
