No complaints here. Just like another poster commented, I'd have punted him after the look back brake check Wink

Ironic how the tough guys are now supporting Jett's look-back brake checks. Silly

No big deal. Where I grew racing when someone did that it was a license to pop them at the first oppurtunity lol.

He didn't brake check him. Brake checking is when someone is in the same rut as you and then you hit your brakes mid turn forcing the rider behind you to check up. Hence brake checking. What Jett did was slow down so Colt could not cut under him.

I love how some people can be so quick to the "Do you even race, bro!?" when they disagree with a comment about racing. How many people on here don't ride? I've always thought most of us knuckleheads do.

Colt ain't worried about it. His ride from the back of the pack to a podium spoke volumes. That's a champ right there.

Man..... a lot of you "kinder gentler" types would have completely lost your shit in the old days of motocross.

Keep up the good work Jett!

"Vital is something else these days" It's for sure not motodrive any more Sad

RONRONMX part deux. LOL

Motoboards used to be a bunch of alpha males pissing at each other. Now it's worse than a sewing circle and down voting (see below for proof)

You’re correct, I used the wrong term. As someone else asked, yes I do know what a brake check is...I just called it one when I shouldn’t have.

That said, my opinion is still the same. Slowing up to hold someone behind you is chicken-shit and a license to get punted over a berm in my book. Same for cross-jumping.

I honestly don't understand what was wrong with it?
Its a brake check.. what was Jett meant to do? let him cut under? What is the difference between looking over your shoulder over a triple and looking over your shoulder down a straight before a corner.
Its racing hahaha

And as far as points and saying Jett isnt racing for a championship.. Colt has 1 DNF and championship can go any way.
AC. Forkner. Savatgy. Stew. etc... Titles can change real quick.

I’ve always been taught to race ahead. If you have to look back and stop to block people’s lines, you’re going backward anyway. I fail to see any excitement in that type of riding, but to each their own.

Jett getting interviewed if not on the podium is on the level of Bubba on 125s and McGrath in the late 90s. They would show interview on them all the time even if he didn't finish top 3. Feld's job is to sale the sport and promote it and right now its roczen and jett. They see that fans love the young guy and they're going to run with it. I dont have a problem bc its smart as a business move just like they did with McGrath and bubba

True. He's a tough competitor. All he really had for Colt last night was blocking and he did it well. And to race the LCQ last week after those crashes was gnarly.

That maneuver was pure strategy. IMO, not very dangerous at all...and a lot less offensive or egregious than a block pass at speed. I don't know what you call that move...a block no-pass?....square up pass defense? I guess just a block. There was no way he was going to beat Colt with straight up speed while nursing that shoulder...but he dam near beat him with a get-a-better-start-and-block strategy.

I learnt something today on Vital, in racing you are not allowed to try and prevent another rider cutting inside of you (i.e. protecting your position) and you are not allowed to look back over your shoulder....I will now be a much better racer (Massive sarcasm alert!!!)

You know I was a fan of Jett as I felt he was for real as a racer, had good manors and very talented , but the last few races have me rethink my position. I have lost respect for him with the stack of truly dumb moves he has made over the past two weeks. His head has gotten too big and now he in the mist of being too full of himself. When that happens to a rider they go down hill fast and we can only hope he does not take someone else out with his downward spiral.

Ricky, specifically, had done it NUMEROUS times. In 125s several times, on a 250 against windham, on a 450 against Reed. Are you serious with this question?

Edit: I might have the bikes flipped for the Windham and Reed deals, but it doesn't change that they happened. Full on brake check look back attitude from RC on all occasions.
str8line wrote:
125 several times? Where and when? Calling BS on this. Ricky didn't slow up and start blocking people.
I watced him do it outdoors at Unidilla and Steel City. I'm pretty sure it was St.Louis, I have no idea the year, RC was getting so bad at doing it that Pastrana said if he did it to him that he was going to wheelie over him. It happened and Pastrana ended his race throwing his front tire across RC's rear fender.
But to add, RC was doing it while taking first place. I don't ever remember RC doing anything stupid like slow down himself and another rider in a charge while the riders in front gained ground.

I don't see how you can have a problem with it whilst they were both going forward.

Jett hadn't got the start and was dropping anchor going to the back. Save for the lapper incident he's definitely fighting for that podium to the end. They were literally catching the guy in front, whilst racing.

Defending your position and making progress is fine.

Weren't people bitching about Craig preventing a pass and keeping his position last week? I know it didn't end the same, but he was trying to keep Jett behind him. I guess as usual it depends on which rider you support, the passer or passee.

Jett’s bike was definitely down on power compared to the star bikes. He was struggling to go triple-triple-triple on the long jump section and Colt/Craig could easily do it.
