Lawrence, too much too soon?

He’s a young kid dealing with a ton of pressure and expectation. He switched teams in the off season. I think Craig’s performance added some validity to the Geico riders’ claims last year regarding the Honda’s lack of performance in supercross. He’ll be fine. I think he did what he needed to do in round 1, but I personally never expected him to win the championship this year. Too many experienced fast guys in the class at this time.

I was way more impressed with Vohland. 9th in very first Supercross? Not bad.
X2! He did not look fast in his preseason practice vids. I didn't expect much and was blown away

Do you think Jetts HRC bike is any better or is he still at a disadvantage being on a Honda?

I would imagine it is probably the same bike. Honda wasn’t racing an HRC 250 supercross bike anywhere else in the world, and they had to patch the program together so quickly after finding out that Geico was pulling out. HRC essentially just replaced Geico as the title sponsor. A few months is nowhere near enough time to develop a new bike, so I would bet he’s on pretty much the same bike he was on last season.

I was thinking the same thing. That it's pretty much the same bike.

He did great in my opinion. As stated by others the pressure he must've had was immense, and is not his fault that fans hyped him soon much to the point where someone even said he is the next James Stewart.

My guess is a Podium next race.

Dude is super young and has little sx race experience.... he looked solid and didn't throw it all away at round 1.... I would put a positive mark next to h1 for jett....

He’d have been 1st or 2nd on the Star bike. Honda really lacks the torque, plain to see.

Ciancurulo was pretty erratic as a lites SX rider, persevered and become a top guy. No worries with Jettson.

The rest of the season, will be the Forkner show. Jett gets a job at the airport, baggage handler maybe.

Not on the Jett train but I thought he did well. Lap times in practice, heats and main were all very good despite not looking all that great in the whoops.

I think he did alright for being a 17-year old kid. Apart from his final lap mistake. He recovered well mid-race. I think he would excel on an even more technical track.

Well, 10 months ago he was the best 16yo racer in the history of ever so.....

The only thing wrong with this kid is the unrealistic expectations that some of his superfans set in their minds.

Let the kid grow into himself. He’s likely to have a long and probably successful career, but his fans that are living and dying with every gate drop he takes are going to drive themselves crazy/crazier.

He looks strong on the bike. Anything inside the top 5 is good. Limit crashes etc.. he’s got three more years in the class to win.

Jaja I was just thinking that watching Jett run it away with the victory and gapping everyone.

He is my pick for the championship.

^^This is post is ridiculous. Why are you blaming fans for seeing how good he is?
