LOL i don't really care what anyone else does.

Sexton knows how to win championships.

Now lets see if he can do it in this class.

The best thing would be for everyone else to second guess or disregard him.

he shines brighter that way.

Can he win this year who knows, but we around here sure hope he does.

all the rest can fight for 2nd. Smile

I'm interested to see how Sexton does too. And AC. They are the future IMO. Webb seems like the kind of rider who will retire with two SX championships though doesn't he? I'm not sure Tomac will be hungry enough and his outdoors might be a sign. Roczen will be good but he may have missed his chance. Same with Moosecan. Zacho could surprise and pull it off but I don't see it. Ferrandis might win some races but his injury could screw him. Barcia will cry harder this season when Mookie punts him. He and Mookie will be regular rivals. Anderson is a dark horse, could win or could be battling with Mookie and Barcia.

I started to type out a list then I remembered how deep this year is.

Mix that in with COVID unpredictability and I think we have a 1st time champ again. AC9, Sexton, ZachO, or Dylan. And it probably only happens because with this née rapid testing, multiple riders are going to test positive and miss some time.

Something crazy is happening this season. Mookie champ? It’s going to be out there I think.

Normalcy is not in the cards.

Stewart P14? He was 7th last year...and same points as Zach in P6. P14? Please. He was probably the most consistent rider last year. P5-P8... If he gets along with the Yamaha...he could podium a few times...and maybe do even better.

Webb - Wants the #1 Plate back
Tomac - Wants to keep the #1 Plate - coin flip with him and Webb
AC - a mistake or 2 away
ZachO - Dark horse for the title
Sexton - Fast, but so are the 4 ahead of him
The next 5 - wow...
KR
MM
Sexton
Anderson
Ferrandis

Barcia and Mookie will not make the top 10 in this field!

Ferrandis will find it hard with that broken hand. He will start on the back foot a little.

Every time I try to come up with a list I find that I forgot about someone, then I have to redo the list. I’ve come to the conclusion that I really can’t make a top 10 list placing the riders in a finishing order. To me this is a good thing as it means I suspect a knock down drag out supercross season of a bunch of contenders. I’m grabbing’ some popcorn and going to enjoy the show. Smile

Two riders many seem to be discounting here...Musquin & Mookie. Marvin is healthy, and I think he still wants it more than most. Young talent like AC & Sexton are coming up...but I think you’ll still see Marvin top-3 when the smoke clears!

Mookie is hungry to prove he’s deserving of the Yamaha ride...and to prove the haters wrong. He’ll podium more than a couple of races, and wind up a solid top-5...

I think Cooper Webb will do the deed. I’m not a fan...but that doesn’t matter. He’s focused, fast, and can damn near “will himself” to win. Tough combo to beat.

I think Tomac will again fall to his mental inconsistency. Me thinks it’ll be his last year. He’s won it all...and has a new family. Time to live a real life.

9 will get his first win but will miss races

2020 results. And before you make a silly call that a rookie is going to win it, remember that AC finished 20th in the points last year.

I agree with this except that i would want to put Marvin in the top 5. But whom would i drop out of that list? Probably Barcia but that is harsh on him. He should be better on the Gas Gas and he got 5th in 2020 even though his Utah rounds were terrible because of bike setup issues.

I expected Ferrandis to have a major impact in his first premier season, so this recent news is a complete bummer. Not sure what in his hand he broke or how soon it can heal, but if it’s minor, there could be a chance he lines up at Anaheim.

Osborne is kinda being over hyped IMO. Overall was lackluster pre-SLC and won a main when Anderson’s seat fell off. Top 5 but far from a title guy IMO

I agree.

Usually that a 2 or 3 men race from daytona.

I guess the usual suspects will be there, Tomac, Webb, Roczen, but nothing sure.

Then a solid group with Musquin, Osborne and Anderson, but again, nothing sure.

I am just quite sure AC, Sexton, Ferrandis, Mookie and co disagree with what I said, which will create a perfect storm from 3rd to 12th, in which consistency and staying healthy will be the key to finish within the top 5.

Roczen will be 3-6 guy, he was already hovering in that range in most SLC rounds, and missing the outdoor season didn't help his case IMHO.

I agree. I also do not think Anderson will win the title, or even a title contender for that matter.

I respectfully disagree. I think with the time off to spend time with his family and rest and heal up, he'll be a threat from the start.

1. Tomac: he's still the fastest SX guy and the pressure will be reduced.
2. Webb: he's a scrapper and will have less bad nights than the others.
3. Musquin: he'll be consistent.
4. AC9: he'll get some wins, but will still have some big errors.
5. KR94: he'll get some wins, but will have too many of his off nights or late race fades.
6. Sexton: he'll be consistent.
7. Osborne: he'll get some podiums and maybe even a win, but not consistently enough.
8. Ferrandis: his starts will hold him back and being in the 450's his speed won't get him to the front as easily as it did in the 250 class.
9. Anderson: he'll show flashes of speed and maybe snag a few podiums or even a win, but not consistently.
10. Barcia: he may get a win and some podiums, but will have a big off or makes some errors or have other drama that distracts him from being in the top 5 consistently. Plus his starts are suspect and he doesn't consistently have the speed Tomac does to make up for those poor starts.
