How would a modern day top rider be viewed if he ran this kind of lifestyle, but still performed when it counted? Is there even room for consideration for such a thing, or is the bar that ridiculously high now that it is simply unfathomable? Let's go the clean route only for the sake of somewhat high brow conversation, PC and reality with drug testing etc.

Example: Young, top rider A has a great event and result, enjoys the after party, then shows up again the following week and puts in another solid showing.

Ohio National hottest ever. I remember that trophy girl, talked to her at redbud, very nice and cool person. Post race party after Millville was fun. Emig is dropping 100,s on the bar 2 long rows of yaggy shots. dressed in an Italian suit with black shades on. Where all downing the shots. Most of the riders where there. Having a great time. At bar closing Ramey jumps in the back of my pu and grabs some warm beers covered in spaghetti sauce out of my cooler. I yell don,t drink them piss warm beers, there yelling drink, drink. Then there yelling fire it up, my yz125. He,s reving the crap out of it. There all hooting and holaring. Just a bunch having fun.

Yep Fro is definitely a cool down to earth dude. No attitude whatsoever you would never know he was a Motocross star and a Champion.

In the early nineties I worked for America West Airlines and would travel to the races for free with my cousin and we did video interviews. When The Europeans came to Budds Creek for the USGP it was right around the time frame with Mike Craig and all the drama when Yamaha fired him for not showing up at a race.

Anyway, I interviewed him as he had the whole Factory Yamaha rig to himself but he did share it with a couple Euros and I asked him about Craig and he thought about it for half a minute and said "no comment" ....

We all had a good laugh. Woohoo
I have hours of video interviews on Super8MM tape need to get it digitized.

Problem is it's not that easy, back then I edited the tapes when I put them on VHS.
So the originals are unedited and need to be.

RC, RV, and Dungey answered that question. They put in the work and have the results to prove it.

I spent an evening with him in Paris (after the supercross) serving as his "translator" ... It was a crazy night where we had a lot of fun ... Because of his kindness, I felt part of the group very quickly, and that nigth is a very good souvenir. Several years later, I was in a restaurant near Washington DC, and Jeff walked into the restaurant ... He saw me and ... remembered me !! He came to say hello to me and spoke with me for 10 minutes, then he went back to his friends ... Really cool guy !!! Thank to him for those moments.

Fro was the perfect guy to come along and be there to challenge Jeremy. Those were great times in the sport and Fro was my guy back then. I remember one year at Red Bud he was doing an autograph signing and he stayed way way past the deadline and made sure everyone got their stuff signed. I remember him treating my son like gold when he interacted with him. Dude had style for days Smile

In the first pic, it looks like me behind Emig sitting on the Honda looking the other way. That was my one and only National I raced at Kenworthy's and my only National on a 250.

The one in the silver wig was single when the ad was done.  She later married Nathan Ramsey.  She was cool as hell.  She is the daughter of a guy that was a very close friend to my dad when I was a kid, about 13.  Can't for the life of me remember her name, but her dad lived in Riverside. She was very down to earth, if I remember right, she was not even a model.  Just happened to be in the right place at the right time and they wanted to use her for it.

Yup, the one in the silver wig, holding the cigar married Ramsey.  They were not married at the time, only dating, and she was the coolest ever.  Down to earth and normal.  My dad was really good friends with her dad.
