Detroit 2017 qualifiers.
Take a look at Craig’s move on Martin.
After watching it answer me this, is Craig a punk?

That’s a complete joke. You can tell when a guy is intentionally taking someone out. That wasn’t it. He saw an opening and went for it. Stupid. I’ll advised. But not probation worthy. There are cases when it’s necessary to intervene. Alessi with Tickle for instance. But this one was just a guy seeing an opening and going for it. Stupid pass attempt that put them both on the ground. Save the probation and whatnot for the truly dirty riding. This one is a simple case of one rider leaving the door wide open and the other going for a pass that he shouldn’t have when he saw the opportunity.

Zacho didn't go down himself. Dylan did.

Zacho would have made that turn even if Joey wasn't there. Dylan would have ended up in the mechanics area.

Zacho's was for a championship on the last lap of the last round. Dylan's was at round 3 with more than half of the race to go and he would have passed him easily anyway.

It's not the same.
You can’t honestly believe this. Zach had it pinned. No way he makes that turn lol. I don’t blame him. Last turn for a championship. But come on.

I just looked at it. 100% he would have made that turn. The passes has nothing similar about them.

Not saying Zacho's was fine, just that you can't compare those two events.

No. Zach should have been black flagged for that. I get racing, but using another rider as a berm is not racing. He and Ferrandis should have both been black flagged.

So what you're saying is the ama condones take out moves and they have a long history of doing so.
Stop hiding behind the it was an aggressive pass statement.

Maybe it'll make Ferrandis race faster and cleaner toward the title. The probation was probably to set precedence for future shenanigans this season for all racers (including Craig for possible retaliation).

Just because Craig did something stupid to Alex doesn't mean Dylan has the right to do something stupid to him.

Two wrongs doesn't make a right.

But but but.. look at all the hardship Zach had to go through to get there. Us American's enjoy a good American underdog story.

If the tables were turned everyone would be talking about how much sacrifice Craig has made to get back at this level completely ignoring that he only married in to this ride. Tickle got suspended just like Craig and KTM dumped him on his ass and broke all association with him. He's had his chance. Things haven't worked out. It's time to stop feeling bad for his failings. Don't even get me started on using their kid to gain a fanbase. That shits rubs me the wrong way.

Craig also has a history of cutting guys off in dangerous sections. Moved over on Savatgy in the whoops and caused him to crash.

I don't blame DF at all. There was a lack of situational awareness on Craig's part when he decided to go wide. DF went for the gap and they came together.

I call that racing.

It doesn't matter who it was. Dangerous moves like this one is never ok. We all know Craig has done some dumb shit but that isn't the point.

I think you're missing the point. Craig posted a pic to his Instagram bitching about it, yet he's done the same thing in the past.

He's in no position to talk about what happened.

Osborne went for Savatgy's front wheel on the last lap of a championship-deciding race. Ferrandis went for a Fibula-shattering pickup pass halfway through round 3. Not exactly the same. I'm OK with aggressive passes, but there was far too much desperation in that move. He was clearly not going to be successful but he went for it anyway.
A rider of Ferrandis' caliber should have known better, even in the heat of the moment.

Yet has done the following in qualifying:

Ah yeah must have missed that. No Craig certainly does not.

Apologize for the confusion. I just think it's a slippery slope if dangerous moves like this one is "ok" just because the victim has done something stupid in the past. Everyone on the track has done stupid stuff in their careers.

I remember this, I was a Craig fan and didn't like Savatgy, but that was dirty as fuck. Can't really slam on the brakes in the whoops.

Actually just the opposite... If you can't see the difference between those 2, we can't help you. Dylan was headed to the mechanics area for sure.

Zach was a short straight and a corner away from the finish and checkers when he and Savatgy tangled. You’re saying that the officials should have decided within about ten seconds to give him the checkered and black flags at the same time?

I’m going to go with no on that.

I don't think Dylan has a reputation of being a dirty rider. Sometimes things happen in racing. DF now has a monkey on his back for the rest of the year. That's gonna haunt him cause the other guys know it and are going to use it to their advantage. As stated earlier...this is probably a harsher penalty than docked positions or even a black flag.
In previous seasons, I would have agreed with you re: reputation. This SX season though he’s consistently gotten poor starts and then is caught up in the crap that comes with them. In his urgency to get to the front, I’ve seen many overly aggressive passes in his attempt to get to the front. It’s come across as a sense of entitlement. “I’m the champ, how dare you be in my way” kind of thing. The penalty is appropriate. It may or may not be harsher depending on the manner it is enforced. At least in this case, the AMA is consistent with some of the other double secret probations they’ve handed out.

DF will find out just how gnarly it is when thousands upon thousands boo him.... Which is gonna be extremely hard on his mental side....

Americans can be super nice, or super A-holes... Punting guys that hard, for no reason, while mid way through a race, is not gonna sit well here... He may have thought it was worth it last night, but just wait until this sat night ...

"Everyone on the track has done stupid stuff in their careers."

Exactly. Dylan didn't purposely do it because he knew Craig has done something in the past. Personally, I think he got impatient and tried to make something happen that just wasn't there.

Definitely not Dylan's best decision or brightest moment. I really don't think it was intentional.

Hardcore fans don't care... But those like me that didn't care about DF either way? Rooting against him from now on.

I would think Dylan knew full well that the move would probably result in Craig going down but I don't think he cared one bit that it was Craig specifically.

We'll never know Tongue

Osborne and Ferrandis are both Making Racing Great Again!

Ferrandis annihilated those guys last night. From Forkner, to Craig to Lawrence. That was rad to watch. Finally some good spirited racing.
