I think the AMA is too unpredictable.. What will they do if Craig retaliates and Ferrandis ends up losing the title? Will they do a fine and suspend it and a 12 month probation? Used to be, back in the day, you were due a "Pay-back", and Everyone Knew it was coming.
Retaliation is different. I'm sure the AMA will be watching for it. Ferrandis sperm of the moment attempt at a pass can be seen as a racing incident however risky. A direct punt is premeditated and obviously won't go very well with the AMA.
Did anyone else notice how that berm was cut off? That is what caused Craigs ass end to swap out after impact. It didn't run out to a taper like other turns because it was in front of the start. .

It's all good, he said he opened his shoulder to let Craig know he was there!Huh

A 12 month probation with a "maybe $3000 fine"?...Sounds like a sweet deal for DF. The only penalty that matters is points and points and more points. I feel like what DF did was a lot more egregious then what Forkner did at the opener where he was penalized 2 spots = 4 points. I don't get the "probation" thing. It's like the AMA is saying, you know it's a bad thing to dangerously takeout another rider....so you can do it once, but not twice.

I'm guessing that after DV12 found out what the repercussions of DF's move was, he probably said something like, that was awesome, you gained a shitload of points!

I think you're missing the point. Craig posted a pic to his Instagram bitching about it, yet he's done the same thing in the past.

He's in no position to talk about what happened.

Posting a passive aggressive Instagram story is pretty fucking on brand for Craig.
This exactly. Craig has a short memory clearly when it comes to aggressive riding. What a hypocrite. The probation is a joke as is the AMA penalty process. If Craig didn't get punished for what we saw on this clip, nothing should. DF was trying to get to the front as quickly as possible-end of story. Nothing intentional here. I love the guys drive. Gets a shit start and never gives up.

Just my two cents but there were several passes in that corner the only difference was the guy on the outside seen it coming and they all checked up just like when Tomac was passing Ken and he loomed and seen it coming and he checked up sure I think the move is a little aggressive but I also feel like it was a racing incident

It was a bad move but he didn’t lose me as a fan. I hate it for Craig though because he is essentially out of the championship hunt now because of that move and that’s what really bothers me. Ferrandis needs to tone it down for sure. He can’t keep being that dirty or he will lose me as a fan but he’s just too awesome to watch and has that drive that I love.

Craig is a crybaby who was on the other side of the stick this time, suck it up buttercup you got to taste your own medicine, show him how you feel on the track instead of cringey instagram posts and vlogs.
suck it up buttercup

Thats perfect, love that saying!! Gets me even more stoked to watch the next 14 rounds!!! Great season so far. I hate to even admit this but I even wish moose can was out there to make it even more fun to watch!!!!!

In the 450SX heat race, RCH/Suzuki’s Broc Tickle passed Mike on the final lap and, one turn later, was repaid with an attempt by Alessi to put him into the front row of the stands. It was far from a legit pass attempt and fell more under the description of takeout. Both riders went down, and after reviewing the tape, we now hear the AMA levied a $4000 fine and probation for the remainder of the season for the #800."

Ferrandis is clearly the fastest 250 rider at the moment. That would mean to me, absolutely ridiculous skill and control of his bike. He can literaly put the bike where he wants to on the track while going faster than anyone on this board can hope to. He had more than enough space and time to NOT make that move. He clearly let his emotions make the decision for him. That's a rookie move, not what a seasoned professional should do.

He deserves more than the slap on the wrist that he received. Hopefully he makes better decisions from now on.

Still a fan of ferrandis.... And winnings winning!! And the reason craig got spit off so hard was because of rear wheel to rear wheel contact.

Dylan made a bad move. He got boo’d and deservedly so. The extreme some people are going to in regards to this incident is pathetic though. A lot of fans are not going to be happy with him but he and Craig are the ones to sort it out on the track and behind the scenes. I respect the hell out of Dylan’s desire to win but that was just a foolish move. It was just so unnecessary since he had the speed to pass him without riding like that. I think this penalty is fine given the circumstances and I am glad Christian is ok. Let’s move on, focus on the racing and hope Dylan has learned his lesson.

Also, fuck I was rooting for Jett so much. That kid is special and rode his nuts off tonight. Heal up quick!

the online reaction on twitter or DF's social media account are pretty much representative of the social media scene in the US in general nowadays anyway, nothing out of standard in the level of idiocracy that ranges from politics to sports to people's private life choices. Not surprised to see the nobodies acting like big bullies online, insulting and threatening someone and their family from keyboard, unfortunately most of this immature trolls have plenty exemples to follow nowadays, no sense of civility.
This pretty well describes where social media is at these days imo. That and yesterday I heard it some described
As, social media is to life, as Porn is to Sex.
Pretty much somes it up.
People need to get off the Social media and start living.

I don't agree with the 12 month probation penalty at all, that seems way overkill to me.

It was a racing incident, nothing more nothing less.

I thought your last sentence was kind of funny since you wrote it on a social media message board. Its just kind of ironic. I do agree with everything you wrote though. I believe most people on this board ride a LOT more and actually "DO" compared to other types of social media. I think Social media is the ruin of our society. It kind of reminds me like driving on the freeway. I'm often amazed at people that flip others the bird while driving - like would they have the balls to do that in line at the grocery store? Hell no. Its just human nature to do stupid shit when they don't think there are real consequences for their actions.

How hard is to just be nice and respectful to other people?

I think he was just trying to get up front too fast, and he came in too hot / misjudged where Craig was going to be. People make mistakes, no harm no foul.

Awesome night of racing, screaming from the couch guaranteed so much action happening.

- Ferrandis, Why is everyone hating on the guy, he sacreficed it all the kid got hart. Rubbin is racing, everyone was cheering for the rookie cant blame the guy for ruining the party Ferrandis got the better hand of it. Without this aditude he maybe wasnt where he is now.

- Craig
Will he be a contender... when the guy doesnt start good he will stay around top 5. Last night he was in front but still didnt made it happen to win !

- Jett
16 years old boy almost made the unthinkable happen. If he didnt slipped. But hey! Experience will come soon or later. the kid got tired and made mistakes Sad he should have punted Ferrandis for that win he was way to nice for that....

- Osborne
Can he search for that last piece to run with the top boys. Dudes been putting top 5s together lately ! He looks really good.

- Anderson
When will Anderson come back on top ! Is he still training with Baker or nah. Im still waiting for his 2018 form

THIS WAS SOME GREAT RACING !!!

Thank god you’re not in charge of the AMA otherwise there would be no passing in sx, maybe try to F1

His ambition outweighed his talent, nothing more or less. If Craig wasn’t in front of him I’m sure he wouldn’t have attacked that corner in the same manner. I’m not a fan of riders getting taken out but sometimes shit happens. Valentino Rossi did something similar to Casey stoner in Jerez in 2011, even at the top level riders make poor choices.

Watching the replay, it seems like it was just a racing incident. Ferandis came it too hot, but he was trying to turn it in, to the point of losing his wheels. Craig saw him at the last minute and pulled his outside leg up to try and get some balance and stand the bike up to avoid a collision with Dylan, but he contacted the tuff block before Dylan hit him.

Aggressive? Yep. Avoidable? Probably. Intentional? Nope. Glad neither was injured. It will play out in upcoming rounds.

Didn't hear anybody complaining about Lawrence trying to stuff Ferrandis a few turns before the finish. That was pretty aggressive too, but Dylan saw it early had the position to absorb it. Could have easily gone the same way as the "bad" hit.
I don’t have a problem with Dylan’s pass on Craig but comparing that to to Jett trying to pass dylan at the end of the race is a joke. Get your head out of your ass
1/19/2020 2:22pm
When did racing fans become a bunch of pussies? Probation for a pass that's done ALL the time? Complete bullshit. Social media....what a sickening view of the society we've become.

I'm a fan of both Craig and Ferrandis..... this was just racing. I don't see Dylan planning to take the guy out like that.

I was totally rooting for Jet.....what a bummer he got hurt....that kid is gonna be awesome.

Glad to see Forkner eat some humple pie last night.

I think Ferrandis did get overly aggressive and reckless, so the punishment is valid. I dont think what he did was unforgivable or rare by any stretch. In my opinion, Ferrandis just needs to realize that sometimes it's better to own it and give a sincere apology.....or at least make it look sincere. Just stop trying to make it ok or "not his fault". If he can do that, the fans will forgive and forget. If he doesnt do that, he's gonna catch more hell for longer. Some compare this to the incident between Osborn and Savatgy, but that isn't valid. This wasnt the final lap in the final race , and it wasnt for the title. Additionally, there was the incident with Jett Lawrence. It wasnt malicious, but one incident was over the top aggressive and the other incident was right after that (which makes it seem worse), and involving Jett Lawrence (who was a 16 year old kid who had just won everybody's heart). It was just bad all around. Not fully owning it and not apologizing was the wrong way to handle it if you dont want to get boo'd. That's just my opinion on this thing.

What incident with Jett are you talking about? He didn't do anything to Lawrence, in fact Lawrence attempted to rub Ferrandis a little bit it just didn't work that well.
