As Dutch nationality person, it has to be the 2019 MXON!

Making the trip out to Sleepy Hollow MX Park for my best friend Steve’s bachelor party. Ripping laps with my brother and his twin brother (my other two best friends), and watching his dad and dad’s best friend ride recklessly on the 110s was an absolute blast. Days two and three of that trip consisted of hiking near Jim Thorpe, lots of good food/beers, and a night out at the infamous Pleasure Dome. One for the books!

Watching Kenny Roczen get that first victory at Hangtown after all the kid went through. Not many ever gave him a chance of standing on the top step ever again

Watching the Outdoors MX with my 83 year old mother, and how she became genuinely interested in the competition from the 450 class. She really liked Tomac, but other's as well, and would cheer for them like she was an 18 year old teenager. She passed away on the 9th of this month and will be sadly missed. RIP Mom.

I can’t decide. Either the first time riding my 08 with cone valves and a Varner built motor, or my first time ever riding jawbone canyon in the socal snow...

The iPhone camera didn’t do the view justice!

Watching Webb pass Roczen in the last corner to take the win! Roczen treated Webb like crap and to see Webb pass him was epic even better was Webb winning the championship something Roczen has not been able to do.

Watching my son continue to improve and get on a 65 for the first time and love it. I enjoy watching him as much as I enjoy riding myself and that says a lot. Good times.

I'm beyond sorry for your loss. Some of my favorite memories were watching SX and the outdoors with my grandfather. PM sent.

Dutch team winning MXON for the first time, but I might be bias.

How about yours GuyB? Nice of you asking, but I wonder what your favorite moment was this year?

In my last full season of racing, managing to ride only 2 MX events.. MX Rewind at Unadilla and VMXdN at Farleigh, as well as pulling a full season of German Sipermoto. 10 race weekends in 5 countries. And our GB 'reserve' team of Simpson, Watson and Sterry getting on the podium in Assen.
And getting to interview Chuck Sun at Mettet Superbiker.

Roczens pass on Webb at High Point this year in moto 2 - literally one of the best displays of skill/finesse I have ever seen in our sport. Somebody please post a link to it!

Talking pro moto as that's what most of us are interested in....coops finger pistol to kroc and Nashville sx.

Flying to the US to see Tomac clinch his third title in a row. Aside from the ridiculous heat, it was such an incredible day.

Webb's tough block - block pass on Tomac in Indy. C-chip was over at that point. I have a feeling that may become a "thing".

I was thinking of that EXACT same thing! Isn't it funny that something like that would stand out from watching an entire season of racing?!?!

On a personal level, two plaques from two coasts sum it up for me. I lucked into a win at the Boise Inter Am after some faster guys blew up their 125s in the deep sand. It was my first time racing in Idaho (most likely my only time), and at the banquet the night before we got to listen to Torsten Hallman talk about the history of the sport. I spent the weekend with my awesome moto family from the PNW, and then I ended up moving and having to say goodbye to them this summer.

But moving back East opened up another door, I had a chance to return to Birch Creek for the Fall Classic (a track I grew up on), and I even managed to get one of my old school moto buddies out of woods riding exile to race +40 with me. I first raced this event in 1995. My parents came out to watch and even gave me grief about not doing the big stepup until I got over it!

After a while, moto becomes more about the journey and the friendships than just the results. The longer I go, I swear the better it all gets. Lots of feels for me in 2019!

.

Birch Creek starting line 1995, 125B:

Birch Creek starting line 2019, Warrior Class. It was totally unplanned, but I was in the exact same gate:

This photo of my son Ethan on the right. A few weeks after he was winning motos at a Loretta Lynn regional last year he was diagnosed with leukemia. Did not go to the national. Instead he started 9 months of weekly chemo. He is in remission, and in "maintenance" treatment now once a month. Hopefully he will be riding soon and have another shot at the ranch.

This past weekend he shot video of a race I promoted at Lone Star MX in Austin and should have a rad edit out soon. It was awesome to have him back at the track!

Shooting Hangtown and getting to see friends there again. Not a lot of humping around tracks left in me, so I was happy for a cool day, good racing, and seeing folks.

A couple of them have been covered here, including Cooper edging out Roczen at Arlington, and Adam’s title win at Ironman.

Cooper getting by Kenny for the win (first main?) at A2 (with the lookback) was an uh-oh moment, and a realization that he was in the title chase. Seeing him wrap it up in Vegas was huge.

Ferrandis’ emotion after scoring the 1w was big, too.
