Lol...

Keyboard warriors on Vital: Chad Reed is a tool, should retire, etc, blah, blah...

Chad Reed: Puts together a privateer bike like 2 weeks before Monster Energy Cup, gets on the track with basically zero seat time, doesn't get a decent lap in qualifying, gets 3rd in the LCQ, and bags a top 10 overall.

Tell us again who the tool is here please....

Hmm, maybe because Chad talked shit on the sponsor paying for the race ? Plus, he is not up front so maybe there’s a coincidence of the minuscule exposure.

maybe on the 2 weeks time, but who's fault is that?

Chad could have been riding more regularly and training.

As a longtime Chad fan, he was underwhelming last night. For me, as an extremely competitive person I don't know why he is out there.

Well he was one of the few riders part of opening ceremonies, so I’d say he’s still pretty damn relevant and popular. That’s just me though, don’t let something as insignificant as reality upset you. . .

He had no idea if he had a ride or not with JGR until very recently. Why ride the Suzuki for weeks on end only to find out you need to go a whole different direction?

It's October. This is the time when most riders just start ramping up for 2020 SX. Seems he figured he would just take some gate drops and get that new bike figured out for his overseas races.

He HAS been training. Fitness isn't an issue.

Reed's Insta:
I’ve done a lot of crazy things in my time but showing up with next to zero seat time may just top the list lol🤷🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️
I had a blast racing again and actually felt a lot of positive feelings to take away from this weekend
Thanks to all who stopped by and showed support
No way any of this is possible without the amazing support from
@mtn_motorsports @cbdmd.usa @boostaus @foxmoto @knobbyunderwear
Now off to Spain to try win the @lamborghinisc world championship

Chad needs a competitor. His best racing was against RC and He retired in 2007. 13 years ago. Chad had great results after that but his best, most inspired racing was against Ricky and James.

I’d like to see him move on personally.

Oct 1 contracts ended. He had about 3 weeks to get a bike ready.

You mean the same CBD company that had massive banners out on the track and were shown every lap of the broadcast. CBD blackout might continue during the regular season which is lame, but for MEC is was out there in the great wide open. As it should be.

Glad Chad was out there but he wasn't up front. Hell, Barcia was around 5th here and there and they hardly even showed/mentioned him.

Let me interrupt this post with an offer you can't miss....

Are your knees sore when you wake up? CBD
Is your dog on it's deathbed? CBD
Is your wife not in the mood all week long? CBD!

It’s simple economics. Chad sells more tickets than the other guys therefore he should at least get mentioned more.

Than again he did talk shit on monster in a interview... it was the monster cup.... that might have something to do with it.

Im not sure yes popular but I do think his star is fading,
No major sponsors just generally obscure family or friends sponsor him.
I think there’s a lot more exciting riders out there now..
Be nice to see him have a decent ride at A1 and go out with style

Dude you’re kidding yourself if you think he’s not still the most popular rider, nobody gets a louder crowd response during opening ceremonies. The guy is THE crowd favorite, with Roczen and Tomac close seconds, and his pit is always jam packed after the races with fans (real fans that actually go to the races, not just sit in their ass and talk crap online). And this was at an event that nobody even knew he would be at until a week prior.

Edit: I’m coming off as way more of a dick then I mean to dude, but I can’t believe how delusional some other guys are here, it’s unreal.

You didn't quote me but I believe you were referring to my post.

I stand behind my comment, because as a competitive person I wouldn't be having fun running around in 8th-13th. No, I don't know where he finished each race, other than 8th the first race, but I do know it wasn't 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.

When I do something I either want to win or be close to winning something or I don't do it, at least not competitively. I would think someone as accomplished as Chad would feel the same way, but I guess not.

We hear what a great business guy he is. The part of “don’t burn bridges” doesn’t need to be a lesson you are learning in the later part of your career especially when it seems to be on life support. Pretty sure when Reed was speaking his mind, everyone was applauding him for it. Didn’t think he would be finishing his years waiting in the final hr to see if he gets picked for a ride after a tryout or having to venture into the privateer model again.

What a fukn man you are...

You should have stopped after your second sentence as I am sure Chad would probably share with you a few things you need to skip and have a few choice names for you as well but he’s not in 3rd grade

Look in sorry but the dude has been racing supercross for nearly 20 years and "lack of seat time" is why he's eluding to not having a good finish? What, does he and every other veteran rider forget how to go fast around a supercross track every single year?? Seen a LOT of riders try and downplay their forthcoming results by half bragging half complaining about "only riding supercross like 5 times before I showed up" or "yea I only rode the bike once while I was at my compound for a month…. .nope, couldn't a bike to practice on"

The more I watch this sport, the more I pick up on the same sayings and preloaded excuses when they think they'll do bad. I mean, chad REALLY Emphasized how he "just bolted parts on"… .ISmile doubt his suspension even from pc was just built on shit I could go get or afford to go get. Same with the exhaust, it didn't come off the shelf no matter how. Much its repeated by said rider. "Yea my engine is bone stock" is another one that irks me.
Look, chad is a legend but lately since his 2nd go around with yamaha its been this or that…. Now its said everything has to be perfect and he has a shot……. Really? What makes a race night perfect enough to allow for a win?
I like that chad is still out there but he's getting worked by riders that haven't magically gotten better than chad when it comes to skill and talent level. You can see it in his riding, he's not pushing at all he goes out and rides at like 80% the last few years he has looked uninspired on the track during races you can see it in his corners especially, when he was racing for a win hed hammer the throttle as soon? as he entered the turn and now a lot of times he's not getting on the gas till the exit. He doesn't ride the same in the main as he does in a heat and there are A LOT of riders that do the same thing. This isn't a hate Chad post but for crying out loud you guys gotta take off the rose colored glasses. There were times last year that he had trouble with A-Ray and also Alessi and that dude hasn't been at sx for a while.
Chad is one of the all time greats but his drive to be competitive at every race has gone away his riding tells the story so I can't figure out why he continues go get after it year after year but he does and you gotta respect that I just don't get why. Do you guys really think a factory Honda would place him on the podium in the same race he barely cracked the top 10 or when he cruised around 10th - 15th?
