I've said it too much already but Ralph is the one that makes it almost unlistenable for me. I can deal with RC, he's trying, but Ralph and his voice just drive me up a wall. Dizzy

Its not 28 laps in 20 minutes its 15-18 in 38 minutes. So its easier to not be as repetitive, the speed they are going adds another level to the analysis and the Holy Shit fucking Eli what the fucking moments in there that you dont regularly get in supercross.

I do wish they would come up with a nice way to explain tear offs and roll offs when its a mud race, they always seem to wing it on the day but its an inevitable thing (obviously not applicable to Pala)
i think you have a point here. The racing outdoors is much more interesting and lets riders be more exploratory with there lines. but GL and Weege are still way better. RC and Ralph try to add drama when a rider like webb would get a bad start and act like he's not gonna gain one position after a 10th place start. they just force to much in my opinion and RC just says the same thing race after race after race.

Weege and GL could commentate paint drying and I would still watch it. They have much more of a "common man" approach and truly come off as industry insiders. Ralph and Ricky....do not. I don't care if Ricky is the GOAT. That doesn't automatically make him competent on the mic. That role Ralph is in is really hard to do and he would benefit immensely from a true MX insider as an analyst. Weege has decades of reps and it shows, but I think the difference with him (up until recently) is that all of his reps have been in moto, whereas Ralph only got involved recently and just doesn't have the same depth. My issues have been with Fro/RC. Just because they're MX royalty doesn't mean they can just walk in and divulge information in the manner befit of a national broadcaster. And they never got better! If anything, they're getting worse! Fro coasted so much they told him to pound sand! GL has shown obvious improvement in his delivery but his personality hasn't changed.

Weege has hinted that the reason he hasn't been considered for SX is due to his MX Sports ties, but I'm curious if both series being on NBC will change things. The producers/execs watching Weege and GL can't possibly walk away and say "Ya no the SX guys are just as good." If Feld/Monster INSIST on keeping Ricky involved, send him back down to the track and put Blair up there with Ralph.

I will admit that Ralph and RC have MUCH more dead air time to fill than Weege and GL, but that's about the only concession I make.

Weege is the voice of Moto, would I be crazy for even suggesting he deserves to be in HOF? Just throwing that out there lol

Weege and GL are great. 1000% better than Ralphicael...
Couple of issues I’ve noticed-
GL said Masterpool was doing a great job to be a privateer in the top 10 during a moto at Hangtown.
(He’s on Factory Star Yamaha bro)

Weege said Justin Cooper just missed the overall at Pala because he didn’t get 3rd in the second moto. AC’s 3-1 would beat Coopers 1-3 on the tie break Weege.

So overall not bad and at least they correct each other most of the time..

I hope they change things up for the Supercross commentary next year.

Let’s not forget the interview lady outdoors. Damn she asks the right questions and is smart. Good on the mic. She’s damn good.

Yeah weege has the ability to look out for drama Ralph tries to create it and it annoys the piss out of you along with his voice. Ricky just is all over the place and Langston is just good at pointing things out.
They did miss a lot of stuff happening on timing and they need to work on that but besides that all good.

Are you sure they weren’t referring to the other Masterpool brother in the 450 class because he was up around the top 10 very early on.... they’ve both been very impressive so far this season.

I wouldn't hold my breath thinking they are going to change announcers next year. If they were ever going to change it would have been this past year with SX changing networks. It would have been so easy to bring in a new crew with no hurt feelings or no broken contracts. I agree GL and Weege are sooooo much better.

I don't know about that. The whole NBCSN SX deal seemed like it was a bit thrown together this year so not entirely surprising they kept alot of the crew. Will Christian is doing indoors and outdoors this year. NBCSN had Weege and Ralph calling American Flat Track last year, this year it's Weege and some other guy. And finally, the management at NBCSN is possibly looking at their new aquisition of SX a little more closely than Fox was, and if they aren't saying wtf is up with this bush league commentary then I guess hoping for any improvement to the broadcast is a lost cause.

But I guess it really comes down to how much control Monster and Feld have to reject any synchronicity between MX and SX just to spite the other partys involved.

How did Weege and Ralph do together announcing the AFT races last year?

Yes because we are watching motocross to see some silly chicks holding that board. Talk about bored!

I will laugh my ass off the day one of them trips and falls when running off the track...as long as they aren't hurt.

RC is the weak link in the SX not Ralph. Would not be at all surprised if he is gone next season, Dont think they will give it back to Emig either but I think the writing is on the wall for Ricky. Cool
I think Ralph is a stink bomb 💣. He just sounds so damn dumb. He just finds one topic or rider and just beats it to death the whole race, sometimes the whole damn season. Ricky is like Yogi Berra without the humor, he just makes up shit as he goes along. It is sometimes humorous to hear him get tangled up mid sentence, mostly they are both pretty sub par.

Grant and Jason are good, Jason is a goofball, but he knows enough to make himself sound believable and genuine.

To be honest I really only watch when I can see it live on fanschoice.tv and they use the track announcers. Weege and Ralph did the tv show that airs a week or 2 later on NBCSN. It's an edited voiceover so it's not really the same as live SX, but they seemed fine to me.

I still find it sad for outdoors that our announcers dont know the potential overall results when a rider is looking at say a 2-2, vs 4-1, vs 1-3.
I agree to an extent. Weege and Grant are not perfect but a helluva lot better than the SX guys. The basic math on the overall in the 250 race had me chuckling. Also I still find it annoying when they go on and on about the days overall winner but then have to explain that each moto is a separate points paying race essentially leaving the overall win as meaningless.

Dear Production Crew,

Things you did right that you need to do more of. When a rider came out of the race, you actually did some pit reporting! More of that please!

Thank you in advance!

Love,
Kawboy

Yeah, Ralph is just a bit much for me. He plays too much into the "show" of supercross. He speaks about the race like an outsider a lot. That might be great for the casual watcher, but I don't think those really exist for our sport. Ricky is usually pretty solid and I appreciate his knowledge, but he's always got a chip on his shoulder about everything, and that stops him from having a relaxed fan-of-the-sport-vibe in the booth.

With Weege and GL, they are just two laid back guys that love motocross. Add in Will Christien, who has really put in the work to learn the sport, and it's a great broadcast.

I am just happy I can watch all motos whenever I want on whatever device I want.

I just want the hard hitting stories, I haven't heard about who lost their wallet once this outdoor season! I mean, where's the real content? Yeah there's racing going on, but I'm sure somebody also lost a wallet, why don't we hear about that in outdoors?!

Weege is 100% a goofball, and I’d say combined with cleaver witty jokes and his usual quirkyness is why everyone loves him! He keeps the broadcast light hearted, funny, and upbeat. Also very skilled at what he does, and quick to correct himself is he mispronounces etc.

The 2 together are a great team. It doesn’t seem like they are “searching” for things to talk about. Both are very professional and offset one another. Wedge is involved with a lot of off-road racing commentating. I bet GL would fit in really well with supercross.
