Shameful that anyone would buy a Chinese shit pile, and I hope they get stranded.

All I said is they tend to build crap. Is that racist? If being truthful is racist then tough shit.
And I apologize for getting worked up about this. I better get outta here before I really get nasty?
Have a good day?
Just because you couldn’t handle owning a HD without playing into the stereotype doesn’t mean there aren’t MX’ers out there who buy Harley’s because they enjoy riding them.
"The majority of people who bash Harley’s can not afford them. It’s like criticizing Ferrari’s, Porsche’s etc because of maintenance cost"
"The new models are not your oil leaking machines you wish you could afford"
"Finally went to a Mac"
"Don’t hate just because all you can afford is Chinese crap. Try getting a real job and you might be able to join the Harley crew"
I don't have much tolerance for those types either. The last thing I want to discuss on my Saturday morning group ride is my portfolio and which little blue pill is most effective. That's why people don't ride Harley's anymore, not because they can't afford it.
Pit Row
that is one of the best parts of his story when he mentions making eye contact with other riders as he was headed downhill, going the wrong way, on a professional motocross track
Another way to look at it is US based companies got the greenlight to setup production in mainland China. This was key to developing more advanced manufacturing there, drawing non-US companies to move their production there as well, advancing shipping from China to the rest of the world, and legitimizing the MADE IN CHINA stamp in people's minds. Back in the cold war era seeing made in China on a product would have carried more negative weight than it does today.
We went through the China learning experience with some very simple right angle gearboxes used in the ag industry. The OEM had been building them in the US and we had a rebuild program where if a customer destroyed one we'd have a rebuilt unit he could take right away. We'd rebuild his old one for the next customer that had problems and so on. When the OEM switched to Chinese built gearboxes the pricing on the shafts doubled compared to the US units but the entire gearbox could be bought at about half the price of the US ones. China didn't want to deal in the parts apparently; too much trouble with the language barrier and organization required to do it properly I suppose. We tried rebuilding the Chinese boxes with US shafts but we'd find little things like the placement of snap ring grooves would not be in the the same place or of a different width so we'd have to fiddle around finding proper snap rings or shim things to get them to work. The internals did not always match the parts drawings either. The added labor expense rebuilding them made it such that it was cheaper to buy a new Chinese gearbox, so we quit rebuilding them. We did not find them to be anymore susceptible to failure though and the US built gearboxes had been using Chinese bearings for years. Many of the first Chinese bearings I remember had a branding of PRC on them: People's Republic of China.
The OEM did bring the gearboxes back to the US here a few years ago although they've since been bought by a Canadian firm so I think we'll soon be receiving gearboxes built in Canada. Someone warned me that they use maple syrup instead of gear oil but I guess I'll find out
Post a reply to: Looks like the Chinese are getting serious!!!
