I don’t think Austin tried to take him out, he ran it in deep and showed chase who he was.. I think Austin could have absolutely taken him out had he wanted.

That's exactly right. The points were close and Forkner knew the best outcome was to finish ahead of Sexton and Cooper and he wasn't gonna pull over for those guys as long as he felt racey in that main. Chase is a good rider with a really bright future and I know that barb at Forkner was in the heat of the moment or whatever but it was pretty offbase.

It looked to me like he went after Sexton with the intent of taking him out. I dont have a problem witht his but that’s what i think.

I think he caught a glimpse of Sexton in his peripheral vision and was thinking I'm not letting this joker get around me here.....that's entirely different in the heat of a championship battle than trying to wreck someone intentionally while already having a torn up knee.

Agreed.
With the points that close, and him racing in massive pain, he was focused on hopefully getting a early lead, creating a gap, and hopefully tough it out.
Unfortunately he knee is just too far gone.

Idk why he squared that corner up and went for the big double.. prob would have been able to rough it out had he did what everyone else was doing

Just imagine the crying if Chase would have made the same type move on a injured Austin!

imo it was a picture-perfect block pass. they don't probably get any better than that, it was surgical.

Chase needs a safe space and sand removed from his girly parts.

Nah I think it was a takeout attempt. Did it twice there in the first few corners. He felt that was his best chance to win I guess.

Forkner ran wide into Sexton’s front wheel off the start and then the move before the finish line. I’m sure Chase was pissed and from his view thought Forkner did try to take him out. Coming out of the first turn it sure looked like Forkner tried to take out his front wheel. Before the finish line was an aggressive move. I’d bet Sexton rewatched the move before the finish line and changed his view of it.

Kid was trying to get paid... Sexton needs to take note unless he wants to be the next Seely or Windham.

Has anyone considered Chase may have thought about Austin taking him out during the weeks leading up to the race? All chase did was state his opinion.

What did he say in the post race Live coverage interview following the win? Immediately following the Austin tried to take me out statement. I could not understand him.

Take note of all many series Austin has finished? I could be wrong but has he rode any series indoors or out without missing races due to injury? You think he would've gotten a wake up call from Nashville and took what was available last night instead of trying to push the issue. Make it thru the night, possible getting second to Sexton, have another week to heal and then lay it all on the line in Vegas when the West coast guys are out there also to help your cause.

AF did try to take him down without it seeming like a total punt. Not saying what AF was wrong but he did want to make him fall. I like aggressive racing.

Even Davalos had to check up a little. If he wasn't there would Forkner have taken Sexton all the way to thr tough blocks and over? Maybe.

I think he tried to take him out AND I LIKE IT. it was a good move and perfectly acceptable when the championship is this close. I’m a Chase fan so i was glad that it didn’t work out.

Forkner purposely tried to take him out twice, can’t blame him though, I would’ve too in that situation

All of the past pros from the 80’s, 90’s and even 20’s are shaking their heads thinking everyone now a days are total pussies.

I don’t think that people are more sensitive now, it’s just that 5 opinions look like “everyone” because of the internet. It’s a misrepresentation. I used to watch supercross at a family friends house when I was a kid and people voiced similar opinions back then, but the Internet didn’t put a magnifying glass on it and make the opinion of a 200 out of 200,000 seem like “everyone”.

The people who thought the pass were fine aren’t going to start a thread about something they see as insignificant.

That's kind of what I saw too on the start. Probably a combo of both racing incidents that got Chase to say that.

Imo Forkner was just going for it, i Dont believe his focus was on Chase, Chase obviously felt that way then, but i wonder if he felt that way after watching the tape, aggressive yeah but i think it could have been anyone and it would have been the same , just my thoughts im not saying im 100% correct i could be wrong but thats what it looked like to me.

Ok, and in none of these statements does anyone account for the fact that these riders know each other very VERY well.

If Chase felt 24 was trying to take him out, I believe him.

but I am biased.

these two have raced each other a very long time. Both know each other's strengths and weaknesses.........

In this case to this point, Chase rode his races this season Austin rode his. Chase hasn't hit other riders to pass,
the other guys have quite a bit, it's part of the sport.

Good racing next weekend, everyone comes out healthy and many of us around here hope for a 23 championship.

I miss the good old days, when Bradshaw & Chicken tried to take one another out in every corner. These kids are just too damn soft these days. lol
