I wish they were more like other sports podcasts where its all real talk and not skirting around issues without worrying about hurting someones feelings and what not.

We hear RC all the time. Podcast work when it's people like Mike Brandes. Those for me are interesting and real.

I listened to this with a real low expectation and am suprised to say I enjoyed it!
Jeff speaks very well.. there was a bit of banter at the end that was good too

I just have no interest in hearing more from Ricky. Aside from his many accomplishments on a motorcycle, he's just not an interesting person. We've heard all of his stories a million times and he's not well-spoken or introspective enough to keep me interested beyond that.

Anybody here the part about mookies chain derailing then going back on? Pretty unfortunate.

I listened to it, was ok, liked the fact it wasnt 4 hours long and full of adverts (i get why others have adverts to fund it etc)

One question, RC - KR94 and RCH.... what was the heat there? was there a falling out between those two?!

So I’m late to the game in these Podcasts (I’m OLD hahaha). Dry

Anyway I just got back behind a desk for 10 hrs a day and you can only listen to so much music (I already have a bad case of tinnitus) so to help the day go by I just started listening to them a week a ago!

It’s a cool way to pass the time as I work and get some good insider info.

As far as the 447 show—I thought it was GOOD!
Especially for a first time effort and it’s good to hear Jeff has no ill feelings towards RC about him replacing him in the booth, as I’m sure it was out of their hands anyway.

I’m bet Jeff has some good stories and he also pops into where my long-time moto Buddy of 50 yrs Jeff Arzouman tends Bar at the Balboa Saloon for 30 yrs. He says Jeff comes in just like a regular guy and is really cool to talk to.

I wonder if Jeff remembers when he was still racing and I did a video interview of him at the USGP at Budds Creek when he was on Yami and Mike Craig had just got kicked off the team and I tried to pry something out of him—he wouldn’t bite! Laughing

Has episode 2 aired yet about Arlington?

And what is the best way to download some of Mathis’s Podcasts to my computer so I don’t have to be on the website while I’m at work and I can just listen?

Thanks

Yea pretty crazy. From the photos here it didn't look like it derailed. They must have high def frame by fram footage in the booth.

Can I get a list of all the podcasts now? I like the idea and am interested in giving each a try but I can't keep up with the names of all of them.

Hard to beat Pulpmx. The Steve Matthes Show on RacerX for current interviews. Specials. The Privateer Island is entertaining. Lest anyone think racing at the Pro level is easy. The Steve Matthes Classics are excellent. Probably not an easier way to learn MX and SX history. Did BigMX radio for awhile. He is tough for me. So repetitive. Did Main Event for the first year. Had to finally can it. Soap opera. DMXS. Guys are great. Whiskey Throttle been killing it. Long as GL isn't three sheets in. Nothing wrong with the choices today. Find some that suit you. Not long ago choices were limited

They posted their second show today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELtKTFipaUM

The difference between Real Talk 447 and the rest of the podcasts....Fro and RC have been there and done it...all of it...at the highest levels and pushed the boundaries of the sport....of what a bike and a racer could do...and the other podcasts with the exception of Ping, Keefer and GL...are basically super-fans or hanger-on'ers.

I bet Fro and RC have worn through more rear moto tires than everyone on vital combined. I am excited for this one!

-Whiskey Throttle

That's not a knock on the others. I'm just saying that if only can squeeze in so many hours of listening in a week, these 3 are my priority.
Same here, with the exception that I would put DMXS in a tie with Main Event Moto for 2nd and Whiskey Throttle in 3rd. Although I haven’t listened since the show with Fro where Langston had a few too many vodka’s.

I just feel like all the other pods are replicating what Pulpmx already does. I like Whiskey Throttle interviews just because you get a good background about the interviewee, however the RJ episode was basically the same thing as Steves interview with RJ several years ago. My "Must Listen to" list is

- all things Pulp
- Coach Robb (i guess you could call this MX related)
- Whiskey Throttle

I am a big fan of Daniel Blair but I dont have enough time to listen to his show unfortunately. Now he is a part time co-host on the Pulp show I feel I can justify skipping the Main event show

I listened to 447...it was just "Eh" to me

447 was a struggle to listen to. Those two will never stop talking about themselves. One and done for me. Love pulp and Whiskey is pretty good. GL adds nothing to the show that’s worth listening to.

Listened to the first two episodes and thought they were both only OK. Between all the FOX/NBC broadcasts, interviews, other podcasts, other media; I feel RC's life and opinions are already pretty well covered. I don't think think anyone was thirsty for more of RC's hot takes. Same thing to a lesser extent with Jeff. Would like to see how it goes once they get some guests on the show.

Episode one was pretty cringe worthy, but the second one was much smoother. I enjoyed it enough to listen again.

No falling out. Kenny and RCH both knew Kenny was going to Honda when he signed.

They need to realize that other sports podcasts arent about the sport.

All you have to do is listen to a podcast with say Joe Rogan and a sports star. They talk about orgies, parties, drugs, banging women, cars, the Kardashians fake asses and plastic surgery, PEDs, and everything except the sport.

I recently listened to a podcast with Rogan and he and the guest barely even mentioned the guests sport, and it went damn near 3 hours long!

They did talk about the guy going to some foreign country for Stem Cell something or other and injury rehab and stuff like that, but barely anything at all about the "Sport" itself

I think Ricky is a cool dude but I don’t think I want to listen to him talk anymore. The broadcast is enough and we’ve seen how far off topic and random he can be. Or repeats himself. I’m gonna give it a shot though.

And PS, the more moto pods the better. It shouldn’t be “pulp vs whiskey vs Rc and fro”. I’d like to see them collaborate a little bit and acknowledge they all have a place in the sport.

One person i think would be cool on the whiskey throttle show is Keefer or Steve Matthes. I’d like to get to know those two guys and how they’ve created a somewhat “niche” in our tiny little sport. It’s awesome that they’ve started this podcasting thing and ran with it, for over ten years now.

Listen to DMXS's interviews with Matthes. They discuss just that.

I feel like I am the only bro who does not listen to podcasts. I do not get the appeal to be honest. 4 hours of talking yields you information that could have been written in a very short article. Guess I’m outta the loop. Is there really that much to talk about in moto that it warrants 10 or more different podcasts? Seems like it will be a bunch of TMZ related jabbering.
I never listened to podcasts until I started my current job two years ago. Now I'm in the car around an hour a day commuting. I like listening to Pulp better than listening to the radio, and there is a lot of humor you don't really get in written articles. I like listening to them when Im on the way to ride too, since Im normally by myself. The flip side is that I spend much less time reading moto websites now that I get my info from podcasts!

Lovin whisky throttle but Weege is a punish. But it’s cool he does a quick wrap up the nex day after a race. But his interviews and that podcast podcast tune are torture . least we have a lot to choose from though
Edit just listened to Emig an Rc not as polished as whisky throttle but still pretty good. I’m into it

Now you're talking!

Put Brandes with a guy like Lance Smail and you have pure moto comedy.

Is there a better moto podcast than pulpmx? I find it pretty bland and annoying with all the ads.

I'd much rather pay a fee to listen to a game professional quality podcast rather than hearing ads in any for.

I like their new podcast, I hope it goes well. Great to hear Fro and RC together. I also like the Whiskey Throttle show, and of course Pulp MX. Timmy Ferry is a legend and a really nice person with a great family. Matthes keeps Timmy Ferry a very popular rider.

Definitely whisky throttle. I was really surprised. Only minor annoyance is them talking over their guest occasionally but the sound quality and dynamics between Pinagree and Langston is great. (Obviously their knowledge is nex level) I rate it no 1 in my book and still will Listen to mathes jt and weege on their racer x pod/pulp show. I will say pulp shows in general are wayyyyy to long. Listened to RC and Emig was so so athe start but got better (sound quality was shit house)

Yep not sure on this one. Knowledge awesome but a friend of mine always said to succeed it’s all about your tone of voice( vocals ) way more important then people think. Was amateurish but whisky throttle straight of the batt was awesome.. sorry everyone to chime in so much but I work in emergency services on standby a lot and podcasts are my bread and butter to get through my day.
