You should just meet up with Jesse Williams and give him the money that you cost him.......

I get some bikes and injuries are worse than others. Seriously though, I’m sure some guys are cool with the 5 grand, while others, are like WTF?

While I think Feld is low-balling the guys on damages, other than that I think they are handling things as well as could be expected and their segment on the broadcast was just fine to me. I mean, WTF do you monkeys want more from them?

Yes!!! Surely before making an offer they should have found out the cost of a new bike and just gave everyone that as a start - this would have allowed the show to go on for ALL privateers by getting a new bike.

Stupid thread... Theres a lot of questions, they provided the answers... What do u want non scripted? Itd be better if a guy in jeans and a fitted monster hat goes out there n wings it? It sounds like they have it under control and are listening to the riders and compensating them.

They did a nice job of trying to make a pr save. I'll be a believer when the riders post on social media how well they get taken care of. If it wasn't that big of a deal they wouldn't have suspended using the stuff because after all they have been using it forever.

Taken from DirtBikeMagazine: "There is dialogue of a possible rider’s group or representative being used in the future to make that connection between riders and the promoter. Both Dave Prater and Todd Jendro explained that this unfortunate mistake has allowed them to meet more athletes and get some one on one face time."

Uh Oh riders union? Strike if the woops are too big? lol...
Now that they have painted themselves into a corner they want to "hear' from the riders. I hope the riders are smart enough to take advantage of this and at least form some sort of committee with a guy like Chad for instance as their spokesperson.

I would think just a small uptick to even $7,500 would make a difference to some of these guys pinching pennies just to make it to each race who now have to deal with a ruined motorcycle.

The general consensus is that everyone dislikes FELD because they don’t pay the riders enough. So now that “they” acccidentally fucked up and got some of the riders some lime burns everyone wants blood. They could give each rider 50k and it wouldn’t be enough for some of the rioters on here...

I feel like unless you were actually out there and got the burns just shut the fuck up. Bitching on here about your little feelers and what they should do isn’t going to change anything. Whistling

I don't know if all the bikes were completely ruined. Pretty sure that the bike damage was mostly cosmetic. And for the most part, bikes get pretty thrashed by those mud races anyway, so even without the lime the bikes were going to need some pretty big repair money put in to them. None of the bikes that were raced were going to be pristine, even without the lime being added to the track.

The bodily reactions and potential injuries are a whole different thing, obviously. If a rider had medical issues of any kind, I'd make sure that the 5K payment didn't include signing away the right to make a claim for medical costs and such.

Yes Feld is attempting to make it right starting off with a low ball $5000 offer and an apology. However, they continue to slide around the facr that they were adding more “drying agent” while it was RAINING and while they were showing the line of SEVERE storms headed to SD on the jumbotron. I even got a warning on my phone from the National Weather Service while this was going on. Feld pleading ignorant to the weather is what bothers me. Seems everyone knew it was about to shitstorm except for Feld as they continued to add lime as if they had enough to dry up Lake Erie.

I have a couple questions.
If these are professional racers and this is their occupation, where the hell is OSHA?

Has Feld or AMA provided each racer with the Lime products safety data sheet?

AMA is ultimately responsible if Feld is a contracted entity. Just as if your State contracts a company to build a bridge and it collapses in a year. Ultimately it's the states responsibility to have a bridge built safely.

The racers are all independent contractors, Not only did they sign up to race they paid for the opportunity and also bought a license.

People crying where's OSHA and EPA, yep lets do that and see how long it takes for it all to unravel.

Funny all the other threads about Track Suing scum, but somehow this is different.

Safety data sheets are law, not opinion. So the only option to not racing in Lime is NOT RACING?
HMMM.
If asbestos would dry a rack better would you suggest that nobody questioned it?

Think some are missing the point with OSHA. There are people “on the floor” who work for and are paid by Feld and the AMA! They were put in a dangerous posistion. We’re they told “Be careful out there, we put massive amounts of lime on the track?” Guessing not, so that right there created an unsafe work environment. If they were told, and the riders were not told, Feld and the AMA are f’ed.

You guys are fooling yourself if you don’t think the EPA AND OSHA are already involved.

They admitted it was a screw up and are not going to do it again until they are sure it's done right or different.

You can't un-ring a bell. and you sure as hell don't open Pandora's Box after you ring it.

Ask Bowers about his forks, lol
Mud races are brutal, but to race in lime is a whole different ball game. 5k to the factory guys? Really? Lol

If you understood SDSs and the "law", you wouldn't have asked if the riders were provided them.

An SDS is required to be kept by the company using or storing the product as a reference, it isn't required to be handed out to everyone on a jobsite.

Anyone chirping off about the riders being whiners or that Felds reply wasn’t ridiculous and scripted, and that Ralph and Ricky‘s scripted reply didn’t sound stupid is lying to themselves.

I didn’t say that it wasn’t due to “fear of litigation” or “keeping from being sued”

They are just doing their job, I guess. But, if it’s going to be that phoney and scripted, maybe say nothing at all. I guarantee most of the riders.... you know...the main reason for the nights entertainment and the guys that are horribly underpaid for the show they put on.... all scoffed at how bad it was.

Once again, the riders get shafted. We motocross racers definitely aren’t the smartest people.

I haven't seen anyone say it wasn't scripted. It would have been stupid of them NOT to have rehearsed their response to the issue. Again, did you really think that the broadcast was going to ambush a Feld/AMA/FIM rep with a hot mic and start demanding off the cuff answers?

Really?

If OSHA shows up to represent the riders as employees, the sport as we know it done and gone.

Yeah it looked really scripted and awkward but you know they didn’t have to put this in the show at all. Most people watching the show probably didn’t know anything about the whole situation anyway.
