Can anyone explain what "Sealed" means? Rolling the track with as much force as possible? Or tarps?

I love a mud race. Brings a different kind of "drama" to the series and IMO ups the possibility of another new winner this year. Bring it on.

They pack the dirt down "Seal" trying to get the rain to run off it and not soak in.

Make it Sunday at Noon. Have everybody out in time to watch SB. You'll lose some attendees, but you'll lose many anyway with the rain. Lots of moving parts to do that, but other racing series do it on occasion. Mud is part of racing, but I'm not sure how much a part of SX it needs to be. I certainly don't enjoy watching guys ride around in ruts feet off the pegs trying to keep it upright.
Or, just hope the forecast doesn't pan out...

it’s a shame and seems to happen a lot more frequently at these west coast events. I would never book Anaheim for this reason, unless it was last minute. it may be time to consider venues only with closed roof options. also, for the sake of the sports cool factor, let’s call it something else besides “mudder”.

It is so cal. I bet the vendor unions would not allow the last min switch.

The other racing styles that do change race day due to weather are racing facilities. Speedways and such so it is a lot easier for them to do that.

I Dont mind a lite Rain, but A Total Mud fest feet off the pegs rolling all the Jumps sucks, A1 this year turned out pretty exciting, best mud race i remember seeing ever, so hopefully it turns out as good as that

I think it was San Francisco round 06? Could been 07 don’t remember but it started dumping during 450 main but track was still decent and they were jumping the triples. One of the best races I’ve ever been to

Sitting in South Orange County right now with violent lighting and thunder. If there's lightning on Saturday night do they cancel the race? Lightning is rare in SoCal, but there's quite a light show going on at the moment.

Most the time when they really hype these storms up they turn out to be minor....let's hope that's the case. It looks like for sure hard rain on Saturday, but Saturday night is the big question mark. Either way, if they get tons of rain and the track is covered, it will probably still be sloppy if the rain stops before the night show

It would be a totally different scenario if it were MX I’m just not to keen on that fact it cost me over $600 to sit in a wet seat, get soaked and watch the worlds best paddle around like C class riders. Call it what you want, I’ll be on the couch being a “fair weather” fan with 600$ in my pocket watching the same race with a better view.

I remember (I think it was) A1 around 2002 or 04 and it dumped in the 450 main. RC4 and JS7 went at it like mad men, crashing and remounting over and over. At the end KW 14 won on consistancy. It is an all weather sport. :-)

I won't even comment on the money aspect. That's regional and way more than I've ever paid for Houston or Dallas. They're both indoors, granted, but I got soaked a few years running here in Dallas going to the pits. Texas stadium was open roof. I get rained on 3-4 times a year attending FC Dallas games. It just doesn't bother me. Never will. The racing is just as good, whether they're paddling around or not. Some of the purest racing you can watch IMO.

Hard to compare to ball sports. Rain and snow doesn't really affect the intensity of a football game. Players still run fast and hit hard. Rain dramatically affects the intensity of a dirt bike race and I agree 100% that I would have no interest paying to see guys paddling around a rained out supercross track.

Flying there so I’ll atleast tough it out for a little depending how bad it is. Staying at the hotel next door anyway so I can take the short walk with wet clothes if need be
