Ok, What you said and how it actually works is not the same. You dont get a job if you fail a drug test - at most companies(like i originally said). You dont get workmans comp if you fail a drug test. You hit your head on a crane because youre on drugs you dont get workmans comp. thats how it works.

Dont tell me im wrong when others and myself have experienced it first hand and i wont be a dick to you.

You dont even live here and youre trying to tell me how it works.

Once again, you’re painting a broad stoke on something you’re uneducated (not inexperienced) on. I’m not going to educate you via this forum. Stick to telling people how to reset their TPS, which shockingly you do well, and I won’t have to make a fool out of you.

Stay on topic, it’s easier for everyone.

That's why it's a fucked situation, not because of whether Tickle is guilty or not, not whether he was pumped full of roids or took a supplement that's not allowed.
If it takes them this long to even have a hearing into the matter, than they're obviously not managing the situation very efficiently. If they can't manage testing and make concise decisions in a reasonable amount of time, they should fuck off and hand the reins to someone who can.
Have a hearing, give the penalty and get on with it.

Have you even been tested by WADA? I have, and they are ungodly slow... it took over 6 hours to drug test 5 people, and I didn’t get results back for about 5 months. I can almost gaurentee all of you cry babies on this situation haven’t been tested and have no room to speak. The whole process is extremely slow, and none of you have patience. Yeah, Broc is in “limbo” waiting for an answer, but oh well. Those are the cards he was dealt. As far as earning a living, nothing is stoping him from getting a job that does not involve racing a dirt bike. Gosh, some of you sound like snowflake liberal transgenders, “YOU JUST DONT UNDERSTAND” “IT’S WAY MORE COMPLEX THAN THAT”, “EVERYBODY IS STUPID IF THEY DONT THINK LIKE I DO”. That’s what you pansies sound like. Grow up bros
1) Tickle knows he’s suspended for 4 years!
2) he knows it started on the date of the race he got popped!

He is NOT in Limbo!

Until he comes in and says something different than “I didn’t take it into my body” and starts saying “I have the product and proof it was tainted”......no one here or anywhere is going to believe he has a shot at anything less than 4 years.

It’s not a harsh unreasonable stance it’s just a realistic stance.

I'm curious why the media is willing to write about Broc and keep us updated, but not willing to actually help the guy out. I feel like there is an opportunity here for a scrappy investigative reporter to bang on some doors and move the needle. I am a big fan of most of the moto media, but this is pathetic. Since most content is regurgitated year over year, it strikes me as a laziness issue with a side of not giving a damn.

I'm sure many media types are quite upset and do want to help. Sadly, this is a relatively small, niche sport. Our own media guys can't bite the hand that feeds them without sacrificing their own asses, and they know that. The story would have to be picked up by a much larger, outside media source to really make any waves.

Which makes me think someone within the MX tent should anonymously push the story to a real investigative journalist. THAT could make waves.

So then once he gets an official suspension don't they count the time he has been "provisionally suspended" towards his overall time?

Also, I get the fact that he's done the crime now he's doing the time. It just pisses me off how long it is for this sport, the lack of communication they say, and the fact that if you race another series it seems like they frown upon that.

That seems like the most logical way to do it. But the entire thing is so f’ed you cant even apply logic it seems.

You guys REALLY need to read the WADA code. His provisional suspension does count toward his final suspension. That's why he elected not to race in Canada, straight rhythm, or any other "competition".

Wouldn't matter what they read. In their minds these guys didn't take anything, if they did it doesn't work, and a bunch of people who have never even heard of these racers are out to ruin their careers.

Afterall, they even think Wada,Usada and the FIM does the testing when none of them have cracked the seal on a cup of piss or vial of blood yet. And never will. Yet they are to blame.

Ok so you know there are not many people that are going to sit down and read the WADA codes on drug testing anytime soon, unless it some how is part of their job or are in a similar situation like this. Thats like saying you miss spelled a word, you REALLY need to read the dictionary.

I do have an honest question though. During this suspension, provisional or otherwise, is there anything that says he can't be a part of a race team in some capacity. Like a mechanic, trainer, test rider, ect?

What a ridiculous statement. He has several avenues to make a living, he just can't race a FIM sanctioned series. I think a court would disagree he has a fundamental right to race a FIM sanctioned series.
I think what the courts will say is this is what you signed up for and it's too late after the fact to say that you didn't understand the process or the consequences. If the court was even willing to find jurisdiction given the existing administrative remedies (however messed up they may be at present).

I do think there is a credible argument to be made in an American court that the FIM's results management process should be more transparent and expeditious, and that its faults prejudice athletes. That said, nothing I have read in either Stew's case or this one suggests that anyone in our sport, including agents, lawyers, team managers, has much of clue how the system works, and that doesn't make for sympathetic claimants. CAS, which is independent and pushes back on WADA in some cases, has pretty clear precedent on how these matters unfold, none of which should be a surprise to anyone worth his salt paying attention to his job.

Fixing the FIM process will have to come from within, and the initiative should be apart from resolving an individual case. Unfortunately, the only time people get worked up about it is when there's an incident, and there seems to be no will at the grassroots, national federation level, or at the FIM to devote the resources to a process fix that provides hard milestones that would provide a predictable schedule for athletes under scrutiny.

FTE with logic and calm reasoning...WTF???

In all seriousness, I was shocked that Broc (apparently) went all-in on "fighting it", given the reality of dealing with the FIM, WADA, or Feld. It's gotta be really, really difficult to walk away from your US career based on something like this, but I can't help but think that he should've just taken Lucifa's (and many other posters here) route and simply saved his legal fees and gone to Canada.

I would bet a substantial amount of money that he'd be way, way ahead of the game by saving his money and making less in the Great White North, but I guess he's a gambler.

Nothing in WADA's history in MX (or any other sport) suggests to me that he made a good bet...

I fully understand what you are saying and you are probably right. But is that a good enough excuse to not try? Think small, be small.

Truthfully, I think you nailed it with biting the hand that feeds. You have to want to make waves.

I would think he is free to work for a race team and do anything he wants except race, but I don't think any teams or companies in the moto industry would want to be associated with him at this point. Sad

He should be glad he doesn't have to pay fines also. Jon Jones was fined 205,000 on top of losing his license which he just got back.......

I’m not saying he didn’t get popped, I just think their punishments of “4 years” and delaying all this crap for months is dumb. Especially when dudes in the NFL get caught, serve a four game suspension, (Ingram and Edelman) then they’re good to go.

You lose your job? Just like he lost his job. He got caught, don't like it? Don't fail drug test it is that simple.
While this is true, you aren't prevented from finding another job within your chosen field of work though - and you are immediately given the repercussion of your actions (while either intentional or unintentional). i don't take drugs and I support employer drug testing. I've never failed a drug test, ever (never used any drugs). The issue with Broc isn't the firing, etc. It's being left in limbo. Saying it is unprofessional is an understatement.

Stew didnt get anywhere close to 4 years. The only thing stew got was a good reason to call it quits.

As explained by some knowledgeable people here...it is a simple matter to take a supplement..and they all take supplements , that has been tainted in the production process with some ingredient from another product made at the same facility.
Also the fact that the substance in question has virtually next to no performance enhancing characteristics...Do you really think Tickle would risk his career by knowingly taking a banned substance that has no performance benefit for him? Really ??
You are carrying on like he"s hopped into the steroids and is whining about getting caught!
Imagine how you'd feel if it was you...the utter bewilderment , wondering what the fuck it was you took that had this shit in it?
And btw ,wether or not Tickle is a race winner or not is of no importance to the argument of fairness and how hes been treated

If it didn't work, it wouldn't be a banned substance. Obviously you have never used it otherwise you wouldn't post such nonsense.
Bullshit! Psuedoefedrine..is right up there on the banned substance list. It is the common ingredient in most commercially available cold and flu medecines...the like of which most of us take when we are totally gummed up with the plague...are you a drug cheat if you take one? According to wada you are...if you have a bad cold will it help? Damn right it will, its medicine that decongests your lungs so you can breathe normally.
If you dont have a cold and you take it...is ita performance enhancing drug? Absolutely not as it tends to leave you somewhat drowsy..
Your logic is an example of your dim wittedness... ive known of quite a few performance enhancing drug cheats in Australian motocross ...some prominent ones that havent been caught...others that have..that were witnessed by close friends injectin banned substances into bad knees and taking steroids etc..What tickle is accused of taking is absolutely nothing and in no way even remotely worth the risk of getting caught...think b4 you type...Tickle is no fool and makes his living in a professional sport subject to random drug testing ...would he really do that for some supposed benefit from what he is accused of taking? If you truly believe that then you are an idiot..

Generally agree with you on the penalties, but, don't understand the lack of urgency. Fundamental fairness ought to at least require some diligence in getting things moving. This entire situation is not Rocket Science particularly from the point of view of the FIM. They have a dirty test. It then falls on Tickle to explain it, if he can. Tickle says he wants a hearing to do so. How can it take so long to simply set a hearing? In Tickle's case the difference between 2 years and 4 years is very significant probably career ending or career changing. Depending on mitigating circumstances, it is possible for the penalty to be less than the usual 2/4 years. The biggest difficulty I have with your logic is that the potential length of penalty should never dictate fundamental fairness or due process. If this were the case why have a capital murder trial at all? The potential penalty generally ranges in the area of 20 years to life.

You are generally correct in that criminal trials can take 9 months or longer, however, this is also generally because it is the DEFENDANT (i.e. Tickle) not the prosecution (i.e. FIM) that extends the time. At least in the USA, there are speedy trial rights. By way of example many jurisdictions are required to get it done in 60 days unless the defendant extends the time. One of the biggest complaints against most fascist governments is the lack of speedy trials or in some cases a trial at all.

Perhaps a more relevant question: "Is the FIM a fascist organization?"

Reading the WADA code, the standard is a reasonable time. The FIM is bound by this standard. I don't agree that 9 months of inaction is reasonable.

Without knowing anything going on behind the scenes, how can you say the delay to this point is reasonable or unreasonable? You have no information upon which to reach a definitive conclusion, other than a social media post from Brock Tickle saying the FIM and WADA are conspiring to take away his livelihood. I'm pretty certain WADA has no clue who Brock Tickle is and doesn't really care, and certainly isn't conspiring with FIM to take away his livelihood. But, like you, I have no information to back that up so I can't say it definitively.

What Tickle is going through is not out of the ordinary for WADA, it's just what you have to deal with when you ingest a banned substance and get caught. If I were Tickle I would be frustrated and impatient as well, and would want my case treated with the highest level of urgency. But to WADA, his case is just a number in a very long line of other case numbers that will eventually reach a final hearing. And then, hopefully, he will get the good news that his suspension is 2 years instead of 4 years.
Well your reply proves that wada is not up to the job...understaffed..overwhelmed? This is not Brock Tickel's fault yet he has to pay the price for it.
He is being criticised for being unprofessional in not knowing exactly what he was taking...how unprofessional is it of the drug testing authority to have to take several months to get to his case?
Wada us a bad joke..

So they are keeping him from getting a job in the industry? Everyone acts like he wins races, and is in the hunt for championships. This boat has sailed, he needs to take a hint and move on. My point is, this is just like crying that you lost your job for smoking pot knowing you're getting drug tested. No difference.

How? If you are a Nurse and fail a drug test, you can never work as a nurse again because you lose your license. They know the rules, just like he did. Fuck him, he got caught time to move on. That's life, sorry that hurts peoples feelings.
Oh and by the way...Tickle is accused of taking a performance enhancing drug...not a mind altering drug, until you can get your head around the difference..its best you stfu

Take a listen to Episode 83 of Main Event Moto and get a real time example of how the drug Tickle was popped for affects the body. Entertaining.
