But Reed, he is "gritty", he is "the true legend". How is that? Reed is a bully, he blocks riders as he is lapped, and he can not make a main event from a heat race. He is even more fat than James was in -16, and then James at least almost rode his heart out in vain, after being of the gate for 2 years, TWO years. Theres nothing to discuss, even the pros and the press around for decades will put James in a league of his own. Titles? They do not make no one see a race.Ronny Mac draws more audience than X, Y ,Z - riders that we know were Far Of The Pace, even in prime age in say -14. They are 25 - 33 years old, have no titles, and are great athletes. But they are not James Stewart.
Maybe we can have a taste of that in MXGP where TC and JH are setting another pace that we know is above the US standards by now. The rest are all crashing themselves dead out there, but only James "won since he rode over his head", since hey, "he crashed". He at least did that, or Won. So whats the problem. No one was as Dominant, as much younger, faster, and different (use that as it applies, it goes for a lot). Not in modern moto.
Come on - Austin Forkner is older than James was as he came from a 3 year dominance unmatched forever in the 125 class. And he is not racing Reed and RC in their Prime. Or winning by a half lap? Stewarts career is on the tube. It will speak for itself, no 16 year olds go out and kill the competition right now on prime time. If they do, will they still do it for over 10 years + and then get to know they were lazy asses. By 2010? Watch Daytona -11 and say that again. I think the story will be told one day, and it wont be what we know of.
This was a rare talent, lets just face it.
James is not coming back, but it is great to see that someone is getting that Honda dirty anyways.
Pit Row
I wonder if he was told by a doctor that he shouldn’t ride anymore due to all the concussions, like Millsaps.
And yes, safe to say JS7 is done racing.
You would think he would want to promote the brand a little by getting out in the public. Maybe he's a little resentful or embarrassed with the sport and how his career ended? The radio silence of one of the sports biggest stars just seems so odd to me.
I assume James also has good tax lawyers, so Seven is probably just being used as a tax write off every year to avoid paying too many taxes, or even claim back.
He's sorted and has clever people around him I am sure.
