Yeah. My parents were Penton/KTM dealers from 1969-2007. Dealer # 006.

My brother got a 1987 KTM 80 which had the first upside down forks. I was so jealous of him.

I still have all the 450s and the 125 although she needs some work again. You can probably tell about when I had to start buying my own. The 06- 08
Hondas were so good. The 09 CRF450R is easily the worst bike I have ever ridden when compared to the previous model. The 05 Honda was way better then the 09.

1989 CR250 (lusted after the 1990 KX250, test rode it, bought a new prior year model Honda instead)

1995 KX250 (should have kept it)
all of the above from roughly 1986 to selling the last one in 1996. With a half dozen TRX250Rs mixed in as well.

big break

2008 - bought a 2008 KTM 300XC
2014 - tried trials and bought a 2009 Gas Gas 280XT

2017 - not mine, but picked up a Kawi KLX140 for the girlfriends daughter as a college graduation present.

Turned 16, discovered cars, girls, partying, school sports got in the way
Owned a 95 YZ125 one summer years later that I bought for peanuts and flipped, then a few years after that I borrowed an ex Team Green 97 KX125 that had been beat to death, then an 01 CR125. Have not ridden at all since 05.

Turning 40 and thinking about getting into ACR stuff. Half to ride to again, half just for a fun resto project.

Always loved motocross my entire childhood but was never allowed a dirtbike. Closest thing was a bmx bike once for my birthday. I remember it was sitting in a shed “hidden” when I was like 10. I 100% thought I was getting a yz85. Sike. I was still appreciative though. Parents always said “you’d hit a tree with a dirtbike and then be a vegitable.” Blink

Got a Can-am 250cc quad at 11 years old but it still wasn’t a dirtbike. Sad Ended up selling the quad so I could buy my 1981 k5 blazer when I was 16. Played baseball from 6-15 and lost interest in that. Rode some friends dirtbikes here and there from 16-19.

Finally bought my 97 yz125 when I turned 19 and could buy what I wanted with my money lol. Then a 2000 yz125 which was supposed to be a somewhat beater bike to ride but the engine was in much worse condition than I thought so it is now a projectCool

Pretty stoked to get this 18 kx250f though Laughing

I'll never forget my first bike. Came home one day and my parents told me to go out to the back porch to pick something up and take it back inside. When I opened the back door a brand new kx80 was there waiting for me. Biggest surprise of my life! (knock on wood...)

My VERY first time riding on my first dirtbike, Xmas 1985 ... yes my FIRST bike was an 1983 RM80 ... check that style and that form doe Grinning

Did i mention this picture is also the VERY first time riding a dirt bike...i was so small my dad had to hold tge bike while i climbed on bec i was nowhere near being tall enough to even touch the ground with 1 leg let alone 2.

My dad started pushing the bike from behind to get it rolling and reached up to help me let the clutch out... I rode around our next door oval track like this for what seemed like all day and from then on I was straight up hooked!
