I ran into a guy at a gas station about 12 years ago or so while putting gas in my pit bike. The guy at the next pump looked over at me and complimented my modded crf50. He told me his son raced dirt bikes and was pro. I asked what his sons name was. He told me “Jimmy Decotis”.

6/18/2025 7:29am Back when I was a kid, the local gravel pit badass was going to smoke me and everyone else once their parents let them race, because they got Pro Circuit pipe for their clapped out 86 KX80 and my bike was 'stock'. He was even 'training with "Gene Michael Bayle.'

I will get a look at the youtubes here shortly. I have always been fascinated by the YZ490.... The only 490 I ever rode was one of the last year IT490. 1984? Pulled my hamstring pretty bad when kickstarting it. Found it gurgled on a super rich low end and then had a hit that yanked the front end up... not exactly a technical trail weapon lol

9/30/2022 10:38pm I remember seeing pictures of oddball euro bikes back in the day. Ancillotti, Fantic, maybe Aprilia and or Derby? I'd forgotten all about them until I stumbled on some 1982 Italian 80cc mx.
Ever see any of these? Ride them? I swear there are zero japanese bikes in that footage.

Rewind was awesome. Great turnout! Mostly 80’s and 90’s bikes. I had 37 in +50 Int on Sat which was actually down from last yr. Think we had 42 in there last yr.
