Tony was rippen. He used to race the Nationals on the rm125 tho right ? Dowd is # 16 he won Millville that yr in 94. Track Looks very similar to a Wi. Tracks today. Lots of turns & stuff always worken the bike in where you want it. Hey Jimmy I worked in New London ,Ct. twice in the 90,s. 2nd time we drilled under a salt water river . By where they built submarines. It’s solid rock under the river. When we finished the p&h crane on exit side was parked on a hill. A office guy in the 4th floor was drinking coffee in the morning. Watching the guys work then the cranes brakes failed . And it took off towards the bldg the crane boom went smashing into the bldg. the office guy dove out of his room. Strange I remember that. I hv a funny story about the Largest virgina in the country. She lives in Norwich ,Ct. I worked there too actually all ovr the ne. There is pipelines made out of wood in the ne. I told the operator plz don’t rip it open. I don’t want to smell George Washington,s uncles poo. Haha. Oh man I had to cross atL 3 times today , soo bad. I wish there was a 125 series I could race like the old days.

Interesting story, my father worked for Allied Crane at the time in New London. His shop was located along the Thames River just south of the Coast Guard Academy and not too far from the Navy base on the other side of the river. I wonder if he recalls the incident...

It was a p&h crane it had a foot brake for the side swing. I remember that because I ran it on rig side & we were on a hill. I was rig side when the crane took off on pipe side opposite side of the river. We fracked out means the drilling fluid is not coming back to the pit in front of rig. It’s going through cracks or who knows to some where. It was coming out of the ground under the river a mile away. We flew a guy in called Spot from the munsters show. He was a trip kinda looked like a dog wolf haha think they hired some locals to help him out. With 2 barges , casing, pumps, crane, etc. he was there quite a few weeks to clean the river up. Someone blew the whistle on us . They had dive teams all ovr the river. Drilling fluid is just a fine clay powder mixed with water. It’s actually in alot of food . Superintendent got nervous thinking we would snap off & be there for a long time . So he had constant flat bed deliveries. When we finished I lded up a few flatbeds . And was told too unld at the Phily airport property. 1st trip there’s a bunch of union guys on strike. Every time there was more. Aprox 1 1/2 mi on each side of the rd. I was asked what to charge for hauling the hhg rig . I said 10 mil and got it. We had 4 world record projects there 793 mil for 1. I think it’s the highest paid ld ever in the country. The yr was 1994.
Tony's one of my favorite riders of all time I enjoy riding up at his track as often as possible. Good luck to him I've been a fan since he went expert.
in the old AMA rule book, any rider over age 40 needed to provide an echocardiogram to apply for AMA pro license.

I’ve never been so excited to watch practice. Between Tony and Jason Brooks, #534 in the 450’s. It would be so cool to have the local guys in the mix.

Well, he just posted a 2:11 in 250B quali for 14th.
Looks like he's about 42nd overall. Gonna be more difficult from now on with the track getting slower...
Qualified 40th overall.
And we can’t watch the consi.
Finished 8th in the LCQ.
Hopefully he gets in as an alternate if they dig deeper in the order. It’s a pretty good run 8th in the LCQ! It tells more than his 40th time in qualifying.

Bummer to see Tony not get in. So many locals trying this year. I have this video of my buddies first time leading an NESC 450 pro class moto at Southwick. Tony ended up getting by him and winning that moto and I think the overall that day. Scott Carter worked up from a bad start. I did the voiceover and uploaded the video with the wrong voiceover by mistake, so its a little rough. Jeff Bryant's father took the video. I only had 1 moto from the day so I don't know the overall, the spots listed in the video at the end are for the Moto.
The dude is a Bad Ass. Plain and simple. I’m proud of him.
Its a longshot for him to get in. But he could get into the second Moto if 4 guys don't show up. Its not too crazy to think that he still may line up for a moto. I don't want to see anybody get hurt or have bikes break. But I would love to see Tony out here in the second Moto. He would be fresh and who knows how he might be able to finish.
Yeah not sure it will happen either, a couple years ago sometimes they were digging deep. I remember Jordan Jarvis lining up for 2nd moto often even though she was around 10th of the LCQ’s
Welp, bummer he didn't make it, I was really thinking and hoping he would. But I think it's been 10 since he last tried. Good effort Tony!
