I know one of the guys at Oakley that helped put the deal together. The first year he didn't make much if anything and his sponsors basically payed to put it on the air. He did it in hopes that it would take off and be bought by a major cable network. Thats where JSE comes in.

This is why he go just go the route of someone like Brett Cue and just post some riding videos, a few instragram posts and an appearance here and there and could keeep his popularity going. He doesn't need to face anymore.

It might be possible he is just tired of dirt bikes. He has been through alot.

Sometimes I think it's his Dad that might be more responsible for his disappearance from the media.

I sure hope he is at the gate come A1. His yard sales throughout his career were always epic. The last few years, his first two laps of a moto were like watching guys fighting through the last lap of an LCQ. I've never seen a vet ride more erratic and with more disregard for himself or the racers around him......esp when he had to start racing as a lapper. For the carnage alone, James is quite entertaining to watch. Plus if he does miraculously end up in the main.....you could also count on him quitting for some arbitrary ridiculous reason. Then everyone would flood to vital and speculate for days how serious it was only to find out he had a tummy ache, sore ankle or blisters. No matter how you slice it, he is def an entertaining character.

Mike Larocco won Las Vegas 1991 and then Indianapolis 2004. 13 Seasons.

Reed is next with his first win in Anaheim 2003, last win in Atlanta 2015. 12 seasons.
