Hey, whatever Ryan decides is all good. I'm hoping at the Red Bull Hangtown National that he shows up and competes, regardless if he's retiring or not.

Little known Dungey fact. After his 2010 Championship year, we got a chocolate lab puppy. Named him Dungey. I set a precedent, by naming our previous (female chocolate) Hannah. Well, a few years later, our kids noticed that our Dungey has the same birthday as Ryan Dungey. I chuckled. In case you were wondering, Dungey's still intact! Kids have been asking for years "Dad, when you going to get him "fixed". My favorite response, "he's not broken." Smile
I like yer style, man. I named my daughter Hannah.
She's 27 now and proudly tells folks she was named after an mx racer. Laughing
I like it. We had some friends (2000-2001) that weren't happy we named our dog Hannah. Yes, they named their daughter Hannah! Smile It didn't matter that I told them Hannah was one of the best racers of all time, so I told them my friend had a neighbor named Jake (that he hated), so he named his dog Jake. Laughing

"his racing days are over" can you wait until he does more rehab before throwing that statement out ?? For all you (and everyone else) knows he could be back to 100% by MEC....can we stay positive?

I think he'll race again but give him virtually no shot at being the title threat he was previously. There is no way he has the same full range of motion and reflexes after that mangled mess heals up. I HOPE TO BE PROVEN WRONG THOUGH!

It truly will feel like the birth of a new era when he has gone.

I'm gonna go right ahead and count Reed out, just so he has a point to prove, but I'm excited to see a brand new SX champ. Excited to see who steps up and gets it done and how they handle being the guy.

With that being said, was never a fan, but all the respect in the world to him.

Being an RC fan came with a bit of stress, but not all that much really, being a fan of anyone other than Dungey during his era, shit man. I won't miss that lol

Sometimes you hear people say "man imagine how good the racing could have been" which is a valid statement. Saying shit like "yeah but X rider wasn't there so it's not the same" is not a valid statement.

Borrowing words from Tears for Fears', Goodnight song: ".....time may be right to say 'good-bye'..."

Thanks Ryan Dungey, and family. You will be remembered as a great ambassador to the sport of motocross, not only as a rider, but as a stand up person as well.

Congrats on a stellar career, champ!

When there are a large number of posts missing, it's generally because people wanted to start attacking each other, or the thread went to the Bahamas for a minute.

Agreed. If I remember correctly there's only been a few times that he's been wrong? But I wouldn't quite stamp that though, because I could be wrong

BTW, I'm happy for him whatever he decides. If it was me, I'd go out in top and healthy and move on to the next chapter of his life. A cameo at Millville would be cool though
