Here's the extended description of the blue flag rule:

4.17 Flags and Lights
It is the rider’s responsibility to be aware of their surroundings
at all times while on track. Safety is a main priority and the
riders must obey all official signals and directions given to
them. Any rider failing to do so may be penalized.
a. Solid Blue Flag:
1. Indicates you are about to be overtaken by faster riders.
2. When conditions allow, move out of the fast line.
3. Hold your line (don’t ride erratically) and do not impede the
faster riders progress.
4. Riders disregarding the blue flag may be black-flagged at
the discretion of Race Director.

Rules are rules for all participants on the track. They should of give him the black flag based on the rulebook.

You would think Reed would know better, considering how his SX season ended in 2009... Whistling

without suspending Reed for the rest of the year, the series loses all credibility. a fine or 1 race suspension means nothing as loser Reed is out of the series anyway.

Maybe he was in the fast line...but they didn't breakout the black flag though that I had seen.
And I don't think he was erratic, meaning:"not even or regular in pattern or movement; unpredictable."
Should be interesting to see what the AMA does,if indeed they do anything.
Morally it was a dick move...but against the rules,I don't know.

I'd like them to suspend him this year so he's that much further away from the all time start record

Reed's been in the championship hunt many times before (obviously) so yea I lost some respect because Reed should know how important every point is for Dung right now. Would a penalty even set Reed much farther back haha...

Depending upon how his contract is written, benching him for the remaining races might actually affect his paycheck from his team. This depends of course if being benched works the same as injury clauses in his contract and if he has said clauses in his contract (if you miss X amount of races, X amount of dollars is cut from your contract pay). But, that's a bunch of ifs depending upon his contract and a possible penalty triggering any existing clauses.

Yes #2 because he stayed in the race line. he had plenty of safe opportunities to move over.

Money or points won't make a bit of difference. Park him through Vegas, this coming from one of the biggest Reed fans here for the last 15 years(lost quite a bit of respect for him tonight). Total dick move, you don't get in the middle of a title fight now matter how much of a whiner Dungey was being.
^^^^ what he said!!! I'm the biggest Reed fan, he obviously let everyone but Dungey go by very easily. He was being the arrogant dick he is!!! Park him the rest of the year. Cannot believe he did that.

So you're saying they might hand out one of the most severe penalties in the history of SX (suspending for 4 races) for disregarding a blue flag? Alrighty, just wanted to clarify.

He didn't say that at all. He was responding to someone else saying it's pointless to penalize him.

Are they gonna penalize Musquin for letting Dungey ride in front of him all night?
