What's my 01 cr500 worth? It's got like 6 hours on it.

Only problem is that it is in New Zealand.

Other fully restored bikes include a 1974 KX450, 1984 KX500 and a 1994 KX500 (all also priced at approx $12,000USD).

Is there even a demand for bikes like this?

A bike just sitting is not such a good thing. I have seen cranks with issues (pitting) from bike just sitting inside a house, along with other parts. Also I would say it is used because it was bought and removed from the original crate. The only person with a new bike is usually the dealer. 1974 Kawasaki KX-450 is sweet, But I thought they has a white stripe on the side of the tank with Kawasaki in black going thru the stripe and the pipe was different?

Yeah I'm not trying to get rid of it! Just curious. I love a steel frame 500!. I usually only ride it once or twice a year so it can stay cherry. 3rd gear. Bwaaaaaaaaa.

I just bought a similar 04 KX500, paid $4200. Ridden around in a field once, otherwise up and down a paved driveway.. I think CR's fetch more.

My CR500 might be worth more than that, who knows....

The bike on the trailer is a zero hour machine, 2001 never clicked into gear .

The trailer however, has done a few miles . Must take some new pics ....

Vital probably working on a script to place a ad over every picture posted. Once redirected to sponsors website, you can then go back and view the picture.

Probably because the original thread was from six years ago.

People are paying a lot of cash here in the UK for the 500 for evo class racing but they need to be built prior to 1990. But even rough around the edges ones are going for between £3500-4500 grand with some bikes costing well over £10'000 by the time they are restored. The 04 one in my opinion is worth less than the 94 cause at least that can be used for super evo racing.
I sold my 89 to a dude in England for that very same reason. He said 90 no good, 89...mmmm good.

That's an odd rule, considering there is no difference between models. Usually there is an "or like models" clause.

The '97 had a fork upgrade to the 46mm , not much changed though, you're right. I've had them new since '97 . Previous bike was a WR500. Angry bike that one.

This the bike that started the thread . Zero hour KX500 , a guy I've known for years has it now and, we're both on the same page.

He sent me this pic from his place. Nice bike.

Someone is snorting itching powder lately, a lot if it... 7 500 bucks there, 12 500 bucks here...

If those aren't factory bikes with some pedigree (winning races, championships, etc.) i can't see how would any old race bike appreciate in value. Especially when those bikes aren't really vintage either...

Someone enlighten me. Tell me how market works, please.

Guess it's not what the bike has done in a pedigree sense , I hear you. I can only guess that the KX500 and the other discontinued open class 2t's are revered for what they represented before the rules and regulations killed them.

They won't depreciate in value, I'm sure of that. Bit like a recently discontinued model Land Rover . Don't make 'em any more. Money in the bank.

Apparently, LOL. Bolting on the front wheel and handlebars somehow make it a used bike. Seeing how it’s a used bike and all, I’ll give you full blue book value for it since that’s all it’s worth. #vital
