Yup

The Audi R8 is made for daily driving making it also comfortable, besides that it pushes enough hp to keep up with a Lambo or Ferrari. Hell the Nissan GTR is even cheaper than an Audi R8 but it destroys super cars.

Bragging about having an Audi R8 as a top athlete looks kinda funny though.

Barcias RS7 would get pulled over here with that race car type sound. Shame really...

I wouldn't go hypercar at all. Probably M5 or RS6.

Well.... Maybe 911 Carrera S....

Poor bastard. My VW is probably the largest piece of shit I've ever owned. The stupidest shit consistently falls apart on the car.

Personally I'd put my money in airplanes. Up there the only speed limits (Above 10,000') are physics.

R8 is a great car.. turn key reliable and understated.. just what you need . Performance wise they are awesome , but to be honest in the US the roads are so poor it doesnt matter about handling. I have driven one hard and its like a big Go kart, brakes are good, although not race spec.. and it is very forgiving. And they are good value.

Like was said .. Lambo's are for posers and second rate rappers

I'm a Mopar guy, love the '69 RR and that '69 Charger!!!! I had a '68 Charger R/T that I sold, which was without a doubt the worst decision of my adult life. The turbo Galaxie is looking awesome too.

Since we are talking about athletes and their cars, Fletcher Cox of the Philadelphia Eagles (Highest Paid Non-QB in NFL history) has a few fast cars. By the way, a buddy of mine is close friends with Cox and says his blue Mustang is for sale for $250k as it sits.

I wouldn't buy a lambo...for 99% of driving it is worthless. You can't hardly drive it anywhere. The wheelbase is so long and it doesn't steer for shit. That said, R8 looks like a tighter wheelbase, might actually be fun to drive. Personally, I'd go with a maserati or ferrari.

Barcia and Roczen where very proud on their R8. But to be honest, isn't that a car for cheapskates? Everyone knows that the R8 is the cheap brother of the Lamborghini Gallardo. A real beast! If you make NFL, MLB or Football money you don't buy R8's I think. Isn't a bit like buying a Huawei because it can all the same things as the IPhone and be proud of it?

On the other hand, same engin is in it.

Old R8's and Gallardos arent really Supercars by today's standards. The 2017 r8 and Lamborghini Huracan are similar cars. But, the Huracan is a LOT nicer than the new R8. Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but ferraris are slow as hell. So are audis and lambos for the money. A similarly priced Porsche 911, or Mclaren 570S or 675LT are real super cars that destroy lambos and ferraris on the track. A Porsche 911 GT3RS and a Mclaren 675LT will DESTROY any Lamborghini or ferrari 488 you can think of. Lamborghinis and Audis just aren't on par with porsche and Mclaren. Mclaren and porsche are the new standard for Supercars. But hey... A 120k dodge viper acr will beat all of these mentioned above. It takes a $1.2 million 918 to beat one.

R8's are for non-car people. Same with GTR's. GTR's are for boy racers that don't know anything about cars and just look at numbers. You're just a passenger in that car, and the car does all the driving. Much rather have a 911. 911's FTW

Are you talking looks....or performance? Because there are no competitive Porsche's in any GT3 world class races right now. In the past...yes. Now days , if you want to talk about actual performance , then the Porsche is one of many , many different options as far as racing goes....just not the 1st and best choice.

July 2016.....there are 45 different cars allowed for GT3 competition. Rarely do you ever see a Porshe even in a serious GT3 scheduled race , let alone at the front. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_GT3

So now are we talking Performance here....or are we all going by " What looks the coolest to you ". Going to any big time GT3 race and calling a Nissan GTR or an Audi R8 " Junk "....means either you're new to the sport or completely clueless.

R8 is poor mans lambo, nuff said.
Even tho they make alot of money, 250k+ for a Ferrari 488/F12 or Lambo Aventador/Huracan is alot for a MXer, imo

I'd buy an R8 or a Porsche over an Italian car any day.

Speaking of old classics and collectables. My grandfather had one of these, his was a 61', first year of production, square tube frame with the flat floor. It was the first left hand drive model brought into Canada, sold in Toronto originally to a wealthy doctor, he bought it with a blown engine and restored it. He sold it, along with the rest of his collection( a 52 XK120 roadster, a 52 xk120 coupe and a 47 Mark) to the former CEO of Nortel just before he passed away to keep my step grandmothers kids from having anthing to do with them....Bummer they are not the family. It was a true thing of beauty, and for its age would go 160mph, which my Dad claims to have toped it out at, with just a lap belt.
