Shoes VX-V3. I did have a open face helmet I bought for BMX racing that I wore the first few times I rode.

I think I started out with a bicycle helmet then got a used bell moto4. "Upgraded" to a Biefee...the thing was junk so I got a AVX which wasn't much better and then I went back to Bell now that I realize how important a quality helmet is. Have several Bell helmets and they just feel right to me. I'll be a life long Bell fan because of that used Moto4.

If the foam on that Moto 4 was analyzed I bet it saved me from a dozen serious accidents. Still have it in my dads barn.

My bike was a Rupp Mini Bike.....think it was a Enduro model or Roadster.....too long ago to be sure.

$15 stars and stripes from K-Mart. Painted it yellow. Put a duckbill and #92 on that bad boy and went racing. Blue jeans, read sweat shirt and brown garden gloves... Most fun per dollar spent that I ever had in my life.

Bell Moto 3 put close to 2 years on it then went over the bars and had the inner liner separate from the outer shell. after that switched to a Bell Mag 4 open face. rode open face till I switched to Jet Ski's and had to wear full face.

I have no idea what brands my first helmets were. My first helmet was the red one and second was the full face helmet. The red one was bought in 1969 and the other one was bought in 1972.

A yellow open face with a Iron Jaw installed that I got from the local bicycle shop. I believe it was made of plastic or something close to it.
