Just another topic on 2 strokes, I guess nothing new it's probably been done before so I apologize in advance if so. BUT... Who would be the best racer in the world if 4 strokes were to never have existed? How different would the history books of motocross and supercross have looked? In my personal opinion, I believe chad Reed would be very close to the king in supercross and James Stewart would be just about the same as the goat in outdoors. I believe villopoto would have been an average top 20 guy. Let me know your predictions on this alternate universe.

Currently active?

Stew and Reed. Actually, I would pay to see that show again. Bubba letting reed by and then leaving him in the dust on a 2 stroke.
Moto just isnt as cool anymore.

Hard to tell how fast someone like Tomac and Roczen could be on one. But with the proof of what we have actually seen , James Stewart hands down! If he kept it up right , that dude was like poetry in motion.

Stewart by a mile! And Im sure Reed can still ride them.
I don't think RV or Dungey would be that great on them myself, but think Roczen and Tomac would kick backside.

Stewart
RV
KR
Reed

On 125s all you need to do is watch this and to know Musquin can ride them! (one of my favorite videos!)

Roczen rode a 125 at the final GP in 2011 and was right up there, ended up with a 5th in moto 1 and crashed out of the second. Wouldn't be surprised if Tomac could haul ass on one too.

I don't think the results would be too different if 4-strokes never came about, cream always rises to the top as they say, therefore I doubt RV would have been just an average guy. Stewart is the obvious answer, but it probably wouldn't have prevented the crashes and weird stuff that's happened to him.

Well. Imagine Stewart staying on a 250 2 stroke till now .. he'd be even higher in the record books in my opinion. (His stats are allready really impressive don't get me wrong). I imagine reed woulda have more SX wins also he was a beast back in his yz 250 days. But in a really alternative universe with only 2 stroke professional racing .. TP199 that doesn't go to freestyle could be a real clinic. If you rewatch his racing back in his 125 days his raw speed is something unreal. Fun topic Smile

Well, Reed said he could beat Stewart if he got a good start... What a kick to the nuts...

Not that this has anything to do with the original question, but I'd love to see Barcia twist the grips off of a 125 Cool

At the KTM dealer show each year we get to see the Factory guys buzz around on whatever bikes they chose for a pro only ride usually while the dealers are eating lunch and back in 2009 when Brayton rode for MDK he buzzed around Red Bud on a 250 2T and I honestly think he was faster on that then anything else. Him and Brownie were battling the whole time. The next weekend he won Steel City, coincidence? You be the judge.

ALSO Dungey was riding 2 strokes at the meeting at Hangtown for the 13s? I think, and boy was that funny, Ill just say he looked just a little uncomfortable to say the least...

Musquin, Herlings and Cairoli would have done very well.

i really really think MA800 would of had a completely different career if the sport did nt go 4 stroke . there is def riders who suit 2 strokes or riders that have been better on 4 stroke . everts was a better 4 stroke rider imo .

MA800
Millsaps
Reed/RV

Alessi would still be beating RV every race had the the 4 stroke not been adopted. Stewart would be in a league of his own.

No one ever ridden a 250 twostroke faster than RC in 02-03. That was the pinnacle. Could argue the case for Jimmy in 2005.

Everts winning Namur on a CR500AF ranks up there

MX... Hands down a non injured seasoned Magoo would have to be considered regardless of era.
