After reading about the shorter Daytona track, my favourite jump might now be off a cliff. Laughing

Until breaking my leg, I enjoyed all types of jumps. Never really had a favourite type.

Drop offs.

In the early 90s Glen Helen had a big drop off over by Talledega side of the track. Loved jumping down that thing.

I've always loved jumps which send you up and over the edge of a steep downhill, so you land half way down it. So you sort of double into the downhill.

Any jump that won't kill me if I mess up. There was a track outside of Vegas called Sandy Valley, I'm not sure if it's still there or not, but they had a mini gravity cavity that when you launched out in third or fourth gear you floated up and over a decent sized hill. It was a blast, because you really went pretty high from the take off, but was also safe. I had fun on the ski jump at Washougal. And there is a great natural table at Black's Creek Idaho. The table part is only about thirty or forty feet but the landing was a huge downhill and you could just go as far as you wanted. I also like jumps out of a corner that you have to seat bounce. Damn, now I'm itching to ride.

I didn't start riding until my late 20's, and I'm also a fat bastard with a engineering desk job. My favorite jumps involve staying on the ground if at all possible!

Step ups where you can't go wrong by just WFO'ing it.

I remember a T-shirt that featured the line "Big Doubles, No Troubles". That was my favorite.

My favorites are the big uphill type double / huckers that give you plenty of time to throw it sideways. Even if you can't "Throw it sideways ".......I love them big 3rd - 4th gear big lofters! Hell yeah!!
Reminds me of the line metzger had in steel roots (I think): "5th gear tapped, can't lose"

I don't know why, but the first thing that came to my mind was; "Big, steep table tops that you can get wicked on." (RC quote from the original Terrafirma)

I like huge landings. I have pretty much jumped everything on any track I went to since I was early teens but always look at the landings. I want big landings. When I was a kid people called me second lap because I would probably try every jump by then and keep the cam on because it could get interesting. I was a nut. I never once sat in the rv and thought of the jumps the night before a race just the start and fast rough areas would have me nervous. I have never really crashed to many times jumping in 30 years but shattered my feet and have also broken some discs from coming up short. Now hi siding in the rough fast sections give me nightmares though.

I like a small jump that's at the end of a straightaway and into a corner. Something that you're braking coming up to the face and then sitting down for the corner as you land

Nice to see we have a lot of variety here, some liking the safe jumps and others preferring to get knarly. Interesting stuff.

The big double/ quad at pala was fun. I also like a jump at estreet mx in NorCal it was like a 90 ft table on a slight left corner. Least favorite was comp edges step down where trey got hurt because it was blind and I worried about blowing my wheel out like his.

i like jumps with a really long takeoff. like if its a uphill that leads to a big table top or like a stepup or stepdown. I dont like when the suspension compress so much in the jumpface. it feels like it stops the speed and momentum alot.

I like turning jumping sections, like the top rollers at budds even though those are extremly hard to doublle all the way through.

The last time I rode this year this practice track added in some new sections. One was a turning 8 pack ( somewhat small doubles) but after you hit the last one their was sorta a small tripple over step up but it was very hard to get the speed to clear the whole thing cuz the landing of the last double was very peaked and right at the lip of the next jump. I like that technical stuff. It's fun to try new lines through it that no one else has thought of.

Can't find a better pic but something like this. The pic does no justice, thats a sweeping turn and your front end wants to dive at every chance. Tricky to double through all of them

Going up Horsepower Hill at Washougal is a blast. The first little ridge you can come up to wide open, stay seated, lean to the right a bit and fly over it a few feet off the ground. Then go wide open up the rest of the hill. Lot's of fun.

not much of a jumper any more, i used to like jumping things that weren't meant to be jumped. big stuff just pick your line and hold her wide.

these days i'll take a gnarly single track over a big double, twice the adrenaline rush for sure

Step-up or a single with a long down hill landing.
