I loved the t-shirt airfilter.
I'm a woods rider, so these are big numbers to me.
my 450 (05 rmz) is 8years old too and i prefer it over most of the new ones ive ridden with the exception of an 08+ rmz
Man that bike reminds me of my 1991 TS200R! Loved that bike, great job great story guys!
My dad's best friend used to say "let your riding do the talking." You guys did just that.
Me and a friend were talking about teaming up for one of those endurance races, but we kept arguing about whose bike we were gonna screw up. I think we have an answer. Eyeballing a 93 YZ125 right now...

but seriously... cool ass thread... it's got me hit'n refresh on craigslist..
The 2 bikes handle, turn, and stop the same. The '08 feels lighter and w/ a built motor is much faster. The '08 feels slightly wider but you barely notice. The '08 definitely shifts better too. The only places where the '13 is better is over acceleration chop, and it's more skinny and is pretty as well.
I'm glad I have a new bike as it's a hobby and I'm currently building my dream bike and I wouldn't want to begin w/ a 5 year old bike, but buying new bikes isn't really a neccesity on a 2 stroke as they haven't improved much.
Now on a 4 stroke it's a different story. The new ones are SOOO MUCH better than ones from just 5 years ago. Night and day difference.
Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
